Columbus Coffee

This place is usually good but didn't quite meet our expectations today. I'm giving 2 stars because there were red flags from the beginning that unfortunately we ignored . We walked in and there were about 6 tables that still had dirty dishes on them. There were things missing from the menu and although the staff were trying their best, it seemed like they were stressed and rushed off their feet prior to our arrival. Our food was cold and very underwhelming considering the price we paid. Overall I believe it was a matter of bad timing but either way I don't think I'll be back anytime soon.

Went into Columbus Waipapa at 12.35pm on Saturday the 27th November ordered coffee and a juice had my coffee card on the counter the whole time gave her the money and asked her why haven't you scanned my card then she said I can't cause I have already processed the sale. I said to her return the sale and resell it after scanning the card she said they couldn't because both of the staff were new and the only staff member who could do it had gone on break. Not good enough!! I won't bother going back such bad service!!

I often visit Columbus Coffee within Mitre 10. Normally it’s been enjoyable, but today I was very disturbed by the way a staff member treated an elderly and obviously frail couple. The issue was over vaccination passes which could have been easily solved if the staff member had used some empathy and compassion. The staff member showed no respect for this poor elderly couple.Even though the food is ok, I will never return.I have been contacted by Columbus Coffee head office after leaving this review. To their credit they were concerned and wanted to make a positive difference. Hopefully they will follow through….Follow up: 29 July 2022, after a short shutdown, Columbus Coffee have reopened with a whole new welcoming atmosphere. Hats off to management and staff who have all stepped up to make this a place people will want to visit while shopping in Mitre 10, Kerikeri. Well done everyone…..

well tried Belgium hot chocolate and it was super delicious never had so good hot chocolate before. I love the ambience and lovely staff with great customer service. It was so good that before taking a picture I had it thanks to the staff who added more chocolate on the top.

After raving to my Dad about how great the service and food is.... To get the complete opposite today and being father's day was really embarrassing for me.Food was cold, items missing from order, wrong order, food burnt and rushed. Tea cold, really bad experience food ordered previously was such a generous portion ordered today and got half the portion.Felt the team did not enjoying been at work today... There was no love on the plate.Dissappointing father's days

Sorry for the novel. Been here a few times and always been enjoyable, until today. Last weekend stopped in and ordered the Kerikeri Vege stack. Loved it. So went back today with a friend to have it again.First off we were greeted by a staff member bending over at the counter with her back to us and at least 2 inches of crack showing. Not a pretty sight and definitely not what you expect to see at any eatery. After short wait ordered my vege stack and Japanese tea and was told there would be a little wait as you were busy.That was ok. My friend put her order in but had to go back and check it as what was on the receipt wasn't what she had ordered but apparently there was no code for that. My tea came out a short while later, with milk but assumed that was for my friend. However her tea never arrived even after waittress came to table twice and said she would go and get it.My vege stack arrived and was completely different to what i had last week although it did match the description on the board. It was nice but disappointing after expecting the same as previously ordered. Looking at your menu i can only surmise that what i was given originally was a cross between the vege stack and the winter salad. Weird. My friend had ordered macaroni cheese. Well, it was hot at the edges and fully cold in the middle. She didn't like to complain and as she wasn't that hungry said she'd eat around the outside but that really didn't work. She did take it back to the counter but by that time she had lost all apetite for it. She just wanted her cup of tea so asked where it was. The waitress asked the person on the coffee stand about it and was shown the teapot and cup sitting on the counter. This was then given to my friend. Now it was at least half an hour since i had been given my tea and hers had obviously been sitting there all that time. Luke warm and stewed.Yes, you were busy but the cafe wasn't full and still doesn't excuse the shocking service and poor quality of food. Very disappointed.

Beautiful coffee, delicious toasted sandwich. ALWAYS have a chef or someone who can short-order cook. Having no chef in a cafe that offers cooked food is like KFC without chicken! And when someone asks for two paper cups when she's ordered an extra hot flat white, please make sure she gets the extra cup...her memory is good!

Double shot long black was exquisite. Moccachino first class too. Panini and croissant were awesomely prepared and simply presented.Coffees arrived 10 minutes after the panini and croissant. Chips arrived a further 22 minutes LATER! The first three chips I had were stone cold. Fresh cooked chips had been shuffled onto old, cold chips and served up 'belatedly' after enquiry perusing the balance of our order.Four staff working and only half dozen dining in. Poor show.

Very busy first day, the staff on the coffee machine were flat out making perfect coffee. Well done! Delicious food, and great staff.
