As we prepared to sell our house in Plimmerton, we were so pleased to find Mel Troy at Clark & Co. Her friendly and informative manner, plus the fact that she was a true local and active in the local community, put us at ease straight away. We really felt she had our best interests at heart. Timing, however, was against us: we put our house on the market just as the government's responsible-lending measures came into effect and there was a pronounced reduction in activity, depressing house prices. As a result it was seven months before we found a buyer, but over that time Mel and her colleague Beck Evans plugged away with open homes and private showings, cared for the property (we'd already moved out) and provided helpful counsel as our expectations took a few blows. Their efforts finally paid off and we secured a sale which, if not what we'd originally hoped for, was certainly satisfactory given the challenging circumstances. We'd recommend Mel and Beck without hesitation.

Prior to listing our property at Aotea, we asked 4 real estate agents to quote for our business. Marina and I felt the most comfortable with Mel Troy as she came across as genuine and professional. Had we gone with another agency we would have spent about another $12,000 on total selling expenses for no apparent benefit to the sale price. We hit the market at a tricky time in early January where the was a change in market sentiment due to rising interest rates and changes in legislation. In the end we managed to negotiate our way around these changes so that we ended up a with a 'win win' result for us as the vendors and the purchasers who also had a house to sell. Well done to Mel and her Team, and Jason.
