We made an offer on a home in Whangarei and needed to get a company in to do a pre-purchase inspection. Betta-Inspect-It advertised they could get inspections done on short notice and the pricing was consistent with other companies, so we booked. We requested that they let us know when the realtor confirmed with them so we could know it was being done. That didn’t happen.Steve did the inspection. We received the report and were extremely disappointed with it. The first 15 or-so pages were disclaimers. The balance was not helpful as buyers. Major appliances were simply acknowledged but not tested for functionality such as the hob, oven, dishwasher, heat pump/inverter, and two heated towel rails. The inspector claimed he could not find the electrical panel. I was in the home for a five minute viewing and noted its location. The underfloor space was not inspected, and instead a picture of the room leading to the underfloor space was included claiming “no access due to blockage from stored items”. Note: The owners were home at the time of the inspection according to the report…Overall, we were not impressed and feel we were ripped off. We felt we got a written report of all the things we already knew due to our own visual inspection.
