This is just unfortunate overall. I don’t often post reviews nor do I want to have any sour relationships with people in general. However, the way this “relationship” ended has led to this post.I understand the importance of sales and business is business. I appreciate the time taken to pitch the products to us but the way they ended a “relationship” with a now, non-customer was poorly handled.We made it clear that we were exploring ALL potential options and I had to check around to make sure we were getting what met our requirements for our costs. That’s the reality of sales and quotes and it shouldn’t be treated as “wasting time”.I will admit on my part some miscommunication and lack of time to assess all options has played a role but price was essentially the number 1 factor.Overall, it was handled, quite frankly, in an unprofessional manner the moment we said we’d chosen a different direction. Yes, focus on customers who potentially buy your products but don’t feel insulted and suddenly create a sense of hostility to those who say no.Because of the way you handled a non-customer, there’s no way I’d even recommend you to a friend or family who are merely looking for quotes and options! Obviously, it would be a different story if you were somewhat gracious!

FBI have been providing alarm systems for many years. We have had one for over 15 years and it's still going strong.

Service was good and happy with the alarm system we had FBI Security put in. They went through our needs and provided a good solution. Good guys and easy to deal with.

Craig recently helped us upgrade our system and some of the hardware as we wanted the latest version that can be used with an app - the app is so easy to use!We are accustomed to having a home alarm system as I grew up with one - the “stay in” function helps us feel so much safer when we go to bed each night :o)

I have used FBI security for about 15 years now, had their alarm systems in two of my homes. I recently had a service on my home alarm and all was good. Craig always uses the best equipment and his guys know their stuff.

Hi,My experience with FBI Security was pathetic. The receptionist lady Julie and her boss (sorry I forgot his name), they both are rude people. Even if they have 25 years of experience in running this business, they don’t know how to behave with customers. They both are misleading the customers always, to earn money.I purchased a existing house in Christchurch and called FBI Security to reset a new code for my existing security alarm system in the house & which was very easy to guide someone over phone. However, instead of giving guidance over phone they told me that they need to send someone to the address physically to process our request as they can’t do it over phone. For which, I said ok but the lady Julie (i.e. so called experience lady by his boss) never informed me about the charges of $115 for sending a person at my address for just 10 minutes hardly (who came in and told us the very simple process of changing security alarm system code). It was so simple that Julie or FBI team should have told us or guide us over phone itself instead of sending someone at home address. This is because Julie and his boss just sitting to play around with customers to earn money.I recently got a tax invoice form FBI security of $115, and to discuss further I called up on their landline number and Julie picked up my call. When I started asking her that why she didn’t inform me about the charges to send a person at my home then she straight away disconnected my call stating that if they don’t get the money then they will going to escalate this to their third party collection company people.But just for your knowledge Julie and your boss, you can’t charge any fees to anyone/ customer without declaring it prior to your service provided as per NZ law. In my case, you did the same thing where I was not inform about the fees/ charges of $115 and straight away you sent me the tax invoice. I believe this is not a right and correct way of doing things in NZ. The biggest worst part came across to me when I again called back after Julie disconnected my call. This time it was her boss, you also started arguing with me stating that he Ian having 25 years of experience in running this business and was even ready to accept Julie or his company’s fault where they mislead the customer before providing the service and hide about the charges/ fees. Julie’s boss is even more rude with his tongue/ speech, which don’t even know the ABCD of customer service. I am really shocked about the way they are running there business. It’s truely not acceptable for me at all because the base of their business is LIE in order to earn few extra dollars from customers. I highly recommend people to use some other security service providers in Christchurch or in NZ but do not use FBI Security services.Special request to Julie and her boss - Please get train yourself in customer service and the better ways to deal with your customers. Sorry to say but even if you have 25 years experience in this business but you have zero knowledge about customer handling. Julie and his boss are the people who are not trustworthy in terms on long term business/ service relationship……You guys go and learn some etiquettes, how to speak with customer and kindly try to accept your faults. I Approached FBI Security to carry out some maintenance works on an alarm system they had previously installed. I was advised i would get a call back. I never received a call back. I heard from a previous employee that the company has no interest in maintenance works unless they can on-sell some hardware.This is not my main issue.My main issue is that they never got back to me. If they were not interested in the work I had to offer, I would have appreciated a call back advising this. Better still, i would have appreciated a referral to someone who would like the work e.g. the past employee that ended up carrying out the works for us.From my experience with FBI, they seemingly lack communication skills.

My wife said they where great. I would have given a 5 star but the service man forgot to check the remotes work. They don't
