A.K.A a sandfly feeding station. Feeling like your carbon footprint is taking its toll on this planet. Stop here and feed the sandflies to offset the guilt. A few days of itching will help your conscious stay at ease or forget about the planet and invest in some sandfly spray!

I just dropped by and had a short hike here. It has toilets, a big parking lot with easy access and plenty of places to camp or camper vans with nice view.

Marble Hill is a peaceful campsite with nice views. A relatively large site, although the top half has more sandflies in summer so the bottom section is in higher demand (still not as bad as many other campsites in the South Island). Probably wouldn't stay longer than one night because of the lack of features, but a very nice one-night stop. The view of the mountains across the meadow is lovely, although it is right off SH7 so you do hear some road noise. There is a very pretty forest right up against the edge of the campsite which provides good shelter from the wind. Facilities are pretty basic with a few long-drops, water taps, fire pits and picnic tables scattered around.

Beautiful quiet area in the valley, surrounded by hills with higher peaks in the distance. Probably about 15 spaces in total (with generous space in between! So could probably fit way more). 1 main toilet block and 1 long drop. Both in need of a freshen up. A couple of water taps but not drinking water.

Toilets, rubbish bins, fire pits and great views. Can camp under the cover of beech forest. Right by the start of the Lake Daniell track and down the road from Maruia Hot Springs. There is tap for water but I think you need to boil it before drinking. Bring insect repellant.

Great location and it was quiet. There is ground good enough to pitch a tent on. It's facilities are meagre but as advertised. Very sandfly heavy.

The camping spot is ok. Toilets are clean, lots of sandflies (same as most spots!). The walk from there takes you to the most stunning spot! Photo attached, I thought I was in Thailand! Just beautiful.
