We popped in for Breakfast. Service was excellent. The full breakfast is great value and very filling. As always the Lagonda is top our list when we visit Oamaru.

Sadly, we had a bad experience.3 of us chose a meal with sausages. So it wasn't just a one off.I know men who would be proud to have a sausage as soild as the ones we were dished up.We were given forks of course, and knives, not serrated, which didn't help us cut even a bite size pieces off our sausage.Salad was nice, chips were lovely, eggs soft and runny, but the sausage, once broken into, tasted what I'd say cardboard would taste like. No taste at all really. My hands are sore from trying to cut the sausages. Yes I ate most of mine, because I'm old school, it took a while to chew. But it was a hard out exercise for my jaw.I passed on our disappointment to managment. For me though, they'd have to use a better quality of saussge and cook them for a lesser amount of time, before I'd ask for a sausage meal from there again. Sorry no Photo.I have to say the meal looked good though.

The Lagonda staff are always friendly and I have been going there for years. The food is always delicious, and they are quite happy to tweak things to taste. The prices are great value.

Took ten minutes to be greeted even though we were the only ones there, and many workers walking past. Should have been my red flag to leave. Paid $18 for the sadest bacon and egg burger imaginable, eggs on toast were $12 and was not asked how we wanted them cooked - but pretty standard tasting. Food tasted fine but lacked love. The cafe assistant forgot our coffee so we asked for a refund. Won't be returning, better cafes around to spend your money in

Been here many times, it's a charming traditional Kiwi tearoom with honest food, value and service, all of which is hard to come by now. It takes me back in time. Steak and mushroom pie and the sandwiches I had were really nice. Nice array of sweet treats on offer too. Recommended.

This milk bar and restaurant reminds me to a time when I was a young lad in Sydney and we had these restaurants. They are few and far between now. I just grabbed a milk shake but it was the best Strawberry milkshake on my 2 week holiday. Wish I had more time to get something to eat. Super friendly staff and great offering of cafe meals. Get something here if you are in Oamaru
