The did a good warrant of fitness for my car. But boy was it slow there was only on person doing warrants and so it took 2 1/2 hours or more to do a 25 minute warrant. And it was really quite expensive for a warrant. There were 3 people on the tills yet there was a huge queue that wasn't moving. Maybe because there was only one person doing warrants going between 2 queues of cars. Painful experience. Just glad I got through first try.

Very friendly and efficient team. I believe they did a very thorough check for my vehicle too. Very reliable! The best ever. The experience I had was very pleasant. Highly recommended!

I’d like to complain about the restricted driving test examiner (JILLIAN W) I encountered. She failed me and her words were not convincing. I felt that she was very strict and lacked flexibility in evaluating the test. My partner accompanied me to provide support and sign the confirmation section on her iPad (not any information for support person), but she did not mention anything about the rule of not speaking during the test. When my partner translate for me only once, she had an aggressive and rude attitude. Finally, I was failed for going over speed limit 1 time, while two critical errors make one immediate failure error. It’s both amusing and unfair :) the examiner will contact many drivers who are not good at drive and many news things, so they need to be patient. Jillian is very rude. She should not work at VTNZ.

I was impressed by the courtesy of staff members. I was disappointed on the very long wait time when I brought back my car after a warrant was declined the initial visit. I was extremely disappointed at the reason for my car failing , which was because I had a small translucent sticker on the lower part of the windscreen which worked with a dashboard gadget to show car speed in a manner which did not obstruct vision. The rule of no stickers is valid only to avoid anything that obstructs the driver's vision. This gadget in fact makes me a safer driver in that I can easily and readily comply with speed limits.

The slowest experience I have ever had and will never go back. I have actively told others about the poor experience, to find I am certainly not the only one.Arrived at 8.03am on a Friday to have my car WOF with only one other car in front of me. Waited until 9:35 before someone brought my car round to me. I could see many of the people working there just standing around chatting!!Cannot understand what they were doing all that time, other than leaning on my car and talking with each other. Do they not realise how frustrating this is to watch them do nothing. This isn't the first time we have had to wait so long and it's not because they don't have enough staff!!!! They are just inefficient, not customer focused and clearly uninterested in providing a good service.

This is a review for the restricted license testers. My son's first test has a very calming and gentle man and he was great at giving instructions. My son failed that one which was his fault. The second test we got someone who, while not friendly, was professional and very by the book. The test was around 45-50 minutes of driving in all road types including some challenging high traffic areas. I feel he did a good job of checking my son had the required skills. The team seems to cop a lot of flak for failing people, but having seen the test (I sat in the back) I feel the test is difficult, but fair

Unacceptable wait times: when I first went to have a check (11/1/23) I had a wait time of 3 hours! Pretty bad but I thought maybe many people and not many staff. My check failed on the windscreen chips. I have since had the windscreen replaced and I have a guarantee from Smith and Smith (Great service BTW!)Today 24/1/23 I went again to the VTNZ at Glenfield at 11.30am and waited 1hour and 50 minutes. I had the papers, I had the guarantee, I had a freshly installed windscreen! I was one car behind a trailer check in the recheck lane. The person in this lane I think went to lunch, and nothing was said- he just walked off. (Its ok that he needed lunch - maybe someone else could have taken over??) When he returned, that trailer took some time to be checked, however at 12.30pm my car was taken and I was told to go and wait. at 12.50pm my car arrived to be picked up by me. 20 minutes to check the guarantee and to look at the windscreen is an unacceptable wait time for this simple check. What is the problem, in this case it was not a shortage of staff as he was the only person doing my lane of rechecks? Surely there could be a simple way to do rechecks rather than this long wait. You cannot book, so once you are in the queue, you are stuck! Terrible.

Yesterday, I had an incredible experience during my full practical driving test with Jillian W as my examiner. Despite feeling nervous, Jillian's calm and reassuring motherly voice helped ease my worries. She even told me nicely not to be nervous. She provided me with clear and early instructions, giving me ample time to process and respond to each direction. At the end of the test, Jillian kindly explained areas where I could improve. It was an overall wonderful experience.

Had a very good experience taking my practical driving test. The service was fast and efficient. My driving instructor Len (from South Africa… I hope I got his name right) was calm, friendly and gave me very clear instructions during the test. He also gave me good feedback after the test. Thank you very much Len!

GREAT EXPERIENCE! Shout out to LEONARD! My wife's practical drive test examiner, I rode with them and I was just an observer at the back seat. Cool and best test drive examiner! Clear with instructions and directions. He makes the examinee relaxed and progressed well to passing the test. He is very reasonable; and the best thing is that after the drive he provides advice on driving skill points that need to be improved more. This was my wife's first practical test drive here in VTNZ North Shore and she passed. She had two tries at VTNZ West Gate, same driving style, but did not pass. I also rode in the back seat to observe and for me it's the worst experienced. They don't handle the examinees well, that is why they have the highest number of non-passers or failed examinees based on statistics with NZ Transport. Great decision for us to just switch to VTNZ North Shore. I also passed my practical driver test at VTNZ North Shore and this is the best VTNZ branch to take your Practical Drive Test. All of their staff are fantastic all the time! Cheers! Keep up the good work!
