Edgewater Motor Lodge

Was wonderfully positioned to enjoy the views over the road and was within walking distance to playground and other amenities. The room was very clean and spacious, the only minor concern was the bathroom fan which was rather noisy and was heard in the room next door. Otherwise happy with it all.

Unfortunately the TV in our room wouldn't work properly, assume issues with the satellite dish. The WIFI also worked intermittently at best, one evening we couldn't get it to work at all. Both couches the springs had collapsed so it felt like you were sitting on the floor. Room in desperate need of an upgrade since the 90's but one positive the bed was comfortable.

Great, clean room, and close to town. The front desk lady was also lovely. Would stay here again.

We arrived and found the room overpowering with the smell of cleaning products and air freshner. I opened all the windows and doors and even after 2hrs it was same. We could smell cigarette smoke as well. They where full and the manager Gagan Singh could not contacted for 1 1/2 hrs. Zt 4pm we decided to go to Taupo. GAGAN refused to give a refund.If you have any allegies this is definitely not the plzce too stay.

Possibly should have read reviews before staying at Edgewater Motor Lodge.While the room was clean and the beds reasonably comfy, I agree with the areas others have mentioned in previous reviews; in particular:Noise - Definitely doesn't appear to have double glazed windows as road noise and other general noise from playground across the road as well as people on the balcony of neighbouring units is very noticeable.WiFi - Average at best. Low signal strength.Parking - Very narrow and limited parking. We squeezed into a spot upon arrival but lost it when we went out to get food. Ended up having to park on the street overnight and hoping for the best in terms of security.Shower - Pressure and temperature varies. Beware if showering a young child as it will suddenly go from warm to very hot (or freezing).Otherwise it's in a great location. Short walk to CBD, supermarkets, restaurants, activities and parks.

Good location for walking into Napier. Room 18 facing road was ok ,however mould in the shower areas.very noisy roller shower door.Bed great. A little road noise on a week day could be bad in weekends.Parking bays very tight and damage to your vehicle may occur.

Spectacular location and very clean. Comfortable bed. Enjoyed my stay. Will be back for a couple of nights in the near future.

Supreme location with your porch looking towards the nice beach park. Very little vehicle traffic. Room was clean. Some light fixtures had dust webs on them. Fridge, microwave, two chairs. No A/C, heating was by a portable electric heater. Nice cutlery set with wine glasses. On site parking. No night concierge.

Excellent location great views. Walking distance to restaurants & takeaways. Carpark very tight & narrow. Great spa bath. Overall enjoyed the stay. Would definately stay again.
