Went there for a birthday dinner yesterday, made a reservation in advance. Our waiter was lovely, very friendly and funny. The food was amazing, omg I can't wait to come back for more. However, there were a few slight issues - service was quite slow, it took a long time for us to be even able to place our order and the food takes a while to be cooked (promise it is worth the wait tho). The waiter we had seemed quite overwhelmed by how busy it was (which just made his friendly attitude even more impressive because i can imagine he was a bit stressed) perhaps a bit more staffing at front of house is needed. And also we had to wait a while to even get water for the table as they didn't have enough bottles chilled and ready. So close to 5 stars from me, really hope next time I come I catch it on a quiet day!

Incredible food and staff! The owner very friendly and charismatic. He came to us to ask if we had enjoyed our food and we ended up chatting for a long time. The food was delicious and well presented. We will definitely come back. Thanks Mr. Taco!

Visited here with my family for my first dine out while visiting them.Our food took 45 minutes to come out and was cold. Would have received better service at the local McDonald’s than dining in here with good expectations as others have told me to try it out.Very disappointed with the service for myself and family

The fish tacos were outstanding! One of the best I’ve had. Pork and chicken burritos were delicious too. Great to have another top spot in Orewa, we’ll be back!

Absolutely painful to deal with.Ordered food after waiting Atleast 15/20mm d before the waiter brought out menus and took the order. Had to wait another 45 mins until the food turned up which was a quesadilla which ended up being wrong anyway ..Absolutely disappointed with everything from the moment I turned hp to the moment I left without eating and cancelled my order.The waiter made me feel extremely uncomfortableStaff are completely untrained and have no service ethics

Tried take away, looking forward to dining in next time. As someone who grew up in California and is very picky, I rate this in the top 1-2 Mexican restaurants I’ve had in the whole of NZ. We ordered a bit of everything to try it out, and standouts are the birria (!!! the only place I’ve tasted this properly done in NZ) and the fish taco which had pickled cabbage and good quality fish the way it’s supposed to be done. Prices aren’t cheap… it’s the cost of restaurant food but that makes sense because it’s restaurant quality food. Definitely recommend and will be back.

After reading great reviews, we decided to give this eatery a try. Agree with many of these comments, service needs a huge shake-up. Long waits for service, then menus, then no water, then a further 40-45 min for presentation of order. This might have been tolerable if there had been a better atmosphere, eg. music and a nice winelist and beers to choose from.On a positive side though, our food eventually arrived and it being the last order of the night, was hot and delicious - yummm.Hopefully industry practice improves - this can be so great - get that long awaited liquor license and set the festive atmosphere!
