Baycrest Thermal Lodge

Lovely place to stay, great location but feels out of the way. The rooms are clean, nice linen and comfortable beds. The private thermal pool is amazing and very private.

We love this place, the staff are welcoming and go the extra mile for you. The heated pool is the highlight for us, we spend most of our time in there even when its raining.Unfortunately I found the bed horrible to sleep in, so over our two night stay I didn't get much sleep. The bed itself for one person is very comfortable, but once my husband got in, every single time he moved the bed moved, like a gentle shaking, this woke me up repeatedly and sad to say I was very happy to be heading home come Sunday.We also had noisy neighbour's, not very good sound proofing, didn't bother me as I always take ear plugs so that would be my recommendation.Everything this else about this place is 5 star though, its clean and fresh, beautiful views on the first floor and great hosts, just the bed was a let down.

What a perfect find! The thermal pool was our favourite part - late night chilling (even in the rain!) A surprise view of a snow covered Mt Ruapehu from our balcony was a perfect morning treat!Great amenities, comfy beds and lovely host.

What a gem fine thank you had a wonderful stay, just wished it could have been longer. Excellent, Clean and comfortable room with spectacular view. Highly recommended this motel and definitely will be back for longer stay

Amazing place to stay. Very clean and nicely furnished, the bed was comfortable. The bonus was the spa bath which was relaxing after a long drive! Highly recommend this Lodge!! Will definitely stay here again!

Lovely comfortable motel with great quiet location overlooking lake Taupo. The big bonus after a day hiking the Tongariro crossing was soaking in the lovely heated pool before dinner and soaking in the spa bath after dinner. Beautifully maintained and lots little extras that say “we care”.Will stay again next time in Taupo.

We were a party of 12 recently celebrating my husband's 70th birthday. We had use of the Carbana room for our small party which was ideal and well suited to our requirements. Diane was wonderful and couldn't be more helpful. She and her team made us so welcome and the occasion will be well remembered for its location, lovely rooms and picturesque pool area. I would definitely recommend this motel to anyone wishing to host a small weekend function.
