We had high hopes for Little Savanna after hearing such great reviews. Unfortunately our experience did not live up to the hype. We came here for our birthday dinner.We ordered the Chicken Espedata ($45), the Hot smoked salmon with lime ($18), and the Panko crumbed goats cheese balls ($18).We waited 45-50 minutes for our meal whilst the tables around us were being served, even though they ordered after us. I appreciate that they were extremely busy, but a little communication as to the ETA of our meal would have been nice. We felt a bit forgotten.Overall the meal was ok. The salmon was over-cooked. Similarly, some of the chicken was tough and dry, and the espedata was too oily for our liking- the ‘crispy’ onions were soggy with oil. The panko balls were full of flavour though- a definite highlight.Our waiter was very friendly and approachable. We were each given a complimentary dessert because it was our birthday, which we very much appreciated.Given the reputation of this restaurant, I believe we caught them on a bad day. Regardless, i do feel disappointed considering this restaurant is definitely on the pricier side.

A great place, we come here for after work drinks all the time. We took friends here for dinner the other night and had a lot of fun. It's on the higher price side (for Palmy restaurants) but the service level is very high and the food is good so I feel you get good value.The bar staff are also great at cocktails and they have a very good wine list.I love that the owners are always friendly and around and they clearly care a lot about the restaurant and their staff.

We went for a team dinner and quite enjoyed it. I enjoyed the chicken livers and goat cheese as it was good to see something different to the usual menu items. The ribs could possibly do with a better rub and basting during cooking as were tender, but a little dry and lacking taste if you got a part without the post-cook added sauce. Sorbet and fruit was nice and large portion, but possibly too much sugar making it a touch slimy as it melted. Ambience and service was great though. Maybe a little on the expensive side overall.

Amazing atmosphere and very good service. Everything was exceptional apart from the pork belly, it was dry and overcooked. Will go back again.

Amazing customer service. Food was brought out quickly. Went for a 4:30pm Booking. Then food was delicious. Loved my pork belly.

Hands down the best dining experience in palmerston north. The food was flawless, the servers are all very professional and friendly and the cocktails are delicious. You can tell that everybody is very well trained and excellent at what they do. Definitely deserve all the praise and all the tips.

The staff were very friendly and could see that they enjoyed their role, Food was awesome, had dinner their twice in a row and was amazed each time. Cocktails are also outstanding! They were also one of ghe few that were open on a Monday night as well. We were two people and for very popular venue they were happy to accommodate us without any reservation. Highly recommend it

Our waiter Kerry provided excellent information about the specials and great service. All three dishes we chose were very tasty. I chose pasta of the day, one of my guests chose a burger and the other chose calamari, chips and salad
