Truly a one of a kind experience. An amazing place and an amazing host. Would come back in a heartbeat!! Can’t beat the charm of Philip and his homemade baked goods.

Nice house with lots of timber accents. Walking distance to the small centre of Murchison. We were fortunate to have the house to ourselves. Clean and well appointed. Free snacks and full kitchen. Excellent breakfast options. Opportunity for personal interaction with the owners. Cannot recall seeing a TV. Would elect to stay again if that way again.

I was so thoroughly pleased with my experience at the Murchison Lodge that I felt I owed it to them to leave a nice review. I was not surprised to see that they already have an almost perfect 5/5 rating because my stay was the same; basically perfect. Incredibly friendly owners, cosy atmosphere and everything you could want. Breakfast was absolutely amazing and the design and maintenance of the place pays attention to the fine details. This isn't merely just a place to stay, but a place to have an authentic and charming B&B experience. So great. Thank you!

This place is amazing. The hospitality is really good, the room was nice and clean and cosy with a comfy bed. The bathroom was good with a super big bath inside. The living room and wood fire was super comfortable too. Breakfast was tasty and huge and I wasn't allowed to wash up. Really hard to imagine how this place could be better. Happy to recommend 100%.

My wife and I stayed in the Riverside room last night. On arrival we were greeted by Phillip and shown the common area and our wonderful room with a beautiful view of the nearby river. We had reservations for an area tour the next day and Phillip made arrangements with the owner to pick us up at the lodge. We had a great nights sleep followed by a delicious early morning breakfast. Had we known what a great place this is we would have stayed for more than one night. Philip was a very engaging host.

We've stayed with Daphne and Philip (and wee Ben!) at the lodge a couple of times now. They're such welcoming, lovely people. Really thoughtful and attentive. The rooms are second to none and Philip cooks a fab brekkie. The grounds are stunning too. We love wandering down to see the ponies, horse and chucks. Sitting in the new sheltered viewing deck down by the river (with a wine) is really lovely. Waking to native birdsong and the smell of bacon and coffee really makes us want to keep coming back to Murch! Thanks guys. We'll see you again soon.

Great hosts made us feel so comfortable and welcome. They cooked a great full breakfast for us in the morning. Comfortable rooms and beautiful grounds with a nice trail for a short walk to the river. We only stayed one night but will definitely remember this place with fondness when we think back on our travels around New Zealand.

Amazing experience. What a place! Daphne, Philip and Ben, incredibly kind. Room was immaculate, comfy and breakfast exceeded our expectations. We walked around, you can see horses, chickens, their cat... love this place. Definitely we will back.

The Murchison Lodge is wonderful, and Philip is the greatest host a person could ever hope for. Incredibly helpful, humourous, and kind, Philip truly made our time in Murchison memorable. He also cooks a great breakfast and keeps a wonderful B&B. Thank you Philip!
