I worked for the Hampton's a few years ago, I had to leave to pursue engineering work for my degree. You might think this would bias my opinion but it doesn't, it simply gave me insight into how great the Hampton's and their team are. You can scoff at the number of brands the Hamptons have aligned themselves with over the years but you cannot deny that it has given them a unique cross section of the motorcycle industry, they know about the bikes and the people who ride them.So a motorcycle shop should typically comprise of a key points. They've got to have stuff, they've got to have what you want when you want it. They've got to have expertise, and technical knowledge to know what to do with the stuff, or which stuff is best for you. Finally they've got to have Customer Focus.The Hapmton's have a lot of stuff, if you're reading this review and haven't gone into their store yet you should. They have gear, parts, fluids, tools, hanging off, sitting on and filling up ever space of their store and it's all in a variety of colours, sizes, mens, womens, etc. Anyone who doesn't carry enough gear doesn't understand their customer.The Hampton's have expertise, both in the workshop and in the store front. They keep up to date with the latest equipment and technology by attending tonnes of supplier information evenings. Ryan's advice on tyres is excellent. In the workshop Mark is knowledgeable in...well everything, I'm sure I've never seen him stumped on a problem. This is an interesting concept, though I'm not sure what the Hampton's current workshop rate is, it's potentially slightly higher than average. This is a good thing though in a city where the average rate is far higher than quality of service one receives. Sure you might pay a few more dollar per hour, but at the end of the day, because of their expertise, you'll pay less in the long run, both in actually money and hassle.The Hampton's customer focus is tireless. Robin and Ryan pull some huge hours working hard for their customers, drawing up deals, etc. I've seen Ryan spend ages hunting for a supplier for some obscure product a customer saw in a magazine while touring in south east asia (or some similarly seemingly impossible scenario) and come through of course. Also if you ask really nice they'll even organise to hang around in the evening if there's a part or item you need but really can't get away from work to pick up. I heard recently how the workshop stayed up all night fixing an issue on a customers race bike. You don't get that anywhere else in Christchurch.In case you haven't worked it out, in my opinion the Hampton's are the best place to go in Christchurch. Job done. End of story. Stop reading this review and go grab what you need. That reminds me, I need a reg/rec for an old suzuki....better wrap this up!

I'm posting two reviews 1st workshop. Rubbish after one week they hadn't even looked at the bike. After two weeks I arranged to have the bike moved to another place. They fixed it within a day or so. I was oversees and the bike was supposed to be ready for my return. Hamptons knew all this. But failed.2nd review accessories. 5 stars. Very recently bought a helmet the service was first class. But I had been round the other bikes shops in town, they were all good two. To be honest it's what you expect.
