We were in cabin 19. The cabins are basic but comfortable. our cabin had a nice view. We were able to leave the window open with the screen in. Each bunk has a light and charging outlets which was great. there are hooks to hang up towels and bathing suits. The showers and bathrooms were very clean. The kitchen and lounge areas were really nice, I wish we had more time to hang out in there.

Only downside is that it is on a very busy road which we new about but did not know that there would be so many trucks driving past all through Friday night, Saturday was better. Lovely cabins and the villa was awesome. The deck was great to sit on with a bean bag :)

Stayed here for 2 nights. Our experience was great, the communal space (I didn’t get to take photos of) was really tidy. They had a bean bag room which my daughter loved playing in! It also had a big kitchen and dinning space. The cabin rooms can get really hot during hot days but there is a fan provided. The only downside I can think of is that the Internet didn’t reach the cabins at the back.

Stayed for 1 night. It is in a lovely setting but the rooms are far too small especially for 4 people. Also had to keep doors and windows closed due to mosquitoes therefore it was claustrophobic and very hot which meant I didn't have any sleep. It would be great if mosquito screens could be placed on windows and doorsso that they could be left open overnight.

The cabins were extremely hot in Dec. There is a fan and windows for but it's not adequate especially for four people. Cabins are extremely poorly located next to a very busy noisy highway and shake like an earthquake everytime a truck passes which was all through the night. House is clean, kitchen not that well stocked. We were looking for tidy but basic place to sleep, but as the environment made it impossible for any of our 3 to sleep can't give it a higher rating.

Cold showers, no hooks or benches in shared bathroom facilities (10 bucks investment, for crying out loud). Shower was cold at 9pm. Paths unlit and bushes haven't been trimmed in months so that you are forced to push through wet foliage to get to your cabin". Don't mind roughing it

It's definitely not a hotel but as long as you're ok with that, it's a great place to stay while exploring the area. Perhaps because we visited in the winter, we got a great deal when we booked as a bundle with the cave tours, and it's close to the caves. We only stayed one night but wish we could have stayed longer. Only downside - bring earplugs because you can hear the trucks going by at night (not super loud, but might disturb a light sleeper). Also not a bad idea if you have a headlamp for going between the cabin and the kitchen/bathrooms after dark. The cabins are really small and quaint, and the heater works! Literally just a tiny hut with a couple beds. The communal kitchen is spacious and there are shared living rooms to hang out. Again since we only stayed one night we didn't do much cooking but it seemed well stocked with cooking equipment from what I could tell. Can't speak for the shower or laundry facilities as we didn't try them. You do have to bring your own towels if you want to shower.

Very quirky accommodations, but they are comfortable and reasonably priced. The view is beautiful and it's close to the waitomo caves. Oh, and there's a giant red apple?!

Came here for the water stuff. It's nice. Cold, but nice. Be prepared to shell out the big bucks though, stuff is not cheap.

If I could give it 2.5 I would. It's obvious that a lot of attention has been paid to the cabins and the villa, as everything is new and quite clean. This is the best aspect of this accommodation. The kitchen badly needs stocking. There is no way to make coffee and there are scant utensils available. Also there's only 1 towel and little to no cleaning supplies. The bathrooms and showers are good. No towels were made available to us.The main reason I am putting such a low rating today is that this is a dry facility and we were not notified upon arrival nor during the booking. The only place to drink is the restaurant, which closes at 17:30 during the week. This establishment should strongly consider dropping their liquor license or completely separating their lodging business from their restaurant business so that tenants may drink legally in the villa after hours.
