Wilkin River Jets

I worked for these guys and have nothing but praise for this amazing company, they gave me most of my best memories in NZ. I did the Siberia Wilderness Extended trip and it far exceeded all expectations, it was the perfect way to experience some beautiful raw and untouched scenery with a dose of adrenaline thrown in. All of the staff are really genuine and funny people and add to the authentic kiwi experience. Some of the other touristy activities I did such as Milford and the glow worms were really very impressive but I personally don't like the crowds of other tourists, Makarora is a hidden gem without being too busy with others. When in the Siberia valley you will feel like the only person there which makes it so peaceful. The jetboat is equally as thrilling as the helicopters, the pilots and boat drivers are all extremely skilled. The only bad thing you may have to endure is the pilot's jokes!

We used the jetboat for our transfers to and from the Gillespie Pass Circuit (Into Young Valley and out from Kerin Forks). Wilkin River Jets was great in communicating regarding booking spaces on the boats, and our transfers were punctual and stress-free. Definitely worth it not having to do a river crossing, and it was nice to take a spin along some very picturesque rivers. They do a great job with access to the mountains.

We were using River Jets to cross the Makarora River and access the Siberia Valley. On the day of our departure, the river was flooded from hard overnight rain. Although they were not running jet boats, they booked us on a helicopter for the same price, for drop off at Kerin Forks. Totally awesome and our first time in a heli. We loved the experience and appreciated the folks at Wilkin River Jets doing what they could to help us with our travels.

Did the Siberia Adventure day trip with Wilkin River Jets & Backcountry Helicopters this season and can't recommend it enough. Amazing flight into the National Park, followed by a couple hours hiking down to Kerin Forks where we met the jet boat. The driver gave some great info into the history of the valley, and threw in some spins as we headed back to Makarora.Highlight of our South Island trip!

We did their Siberian Wilderness Adventure (extended) and had the BEST day ever - wish we could give them 10 stars! A helicopter flight across mountain glaciers and an alpine landing, a great walk out of Siberia valley through wonderful nature, and then a jet boat ride down the crystal blue Wilkin river - it doesn't get better than that! Best value for (helicopter flying) money in NZ for sure!

Highly recommend for anyone doing the Gillespie Pass Circuit. We got the drop off at Young River and pick up at Kerin Forks on Jet Boat. Was great to not worry about river crossing and fun ride on the jet boat which saved our feet on the last day of our 2 night circuit.

We did the extended Siberian experience which was stunning. Amy was excellent, facilitating rearranging our trip to get the best weather window. The pilot was awesome and the scenery staggering. Worth every penny. Many thanks.
