Lake Ohau Lodge

We stayed a couple of nights here as part of a friend's wedding celebration. The location is absolutely stunning. The food was good, especially both of the dinners (the wedding had a set menu). All of the staff, ranging from admin to cleaners to wait staff, were INCREDIBLE and really made the experience special for all the guests. Special mention must go to Tom the 'mullet-man' bartender and his partner whose name I can't remember, we shared some great yarns with them throughout the night. We had a great time, as did all the other guests, and would definitely recommend it.

Very nice location, but a bit run down/old fashioned. We were in the temple wing so had sprung for a better room, but it was very stuffy and unfortunately there are no windows, so you had to open the balcony for air, which we didn't want to do while we slept as it opened onto the road. It would be nice if there was more of an outside area to relax in, other than the balcony.The staff were friendly but not very flexible - we weren't able to borrow cutlery and a couple of plates for making sandwiches the next day. They also say they're very sustainable but recycling was made quite difficult! We enjoyed the dinner one night but it wasn't anything to write home about.Worth mentioning that although it's lovely being by the lake, it is quite out of the way and does take a while to drive out to.

Don‘t play discgolf there! Difficult course with a lot of high grass, ferns, thorns and a pond to lose your disc.. a bit shady costs, would not recommend. One star for the view.

Stayed here on the Alps 2 Ocean trail for the evening and had a great time. 3 course dinner and breakfast were great, good selection of drinks, and views to die for. Get in early for the spa pool on the deck as only one was warm on the day we were there, well worth a visit!

Great place to stay close to mountains. The food and hospitality was fantastic. The room we had was comfortable and clean with great views. One reviewer wrote about ageing infrastructure and other negative features. It is in a remote location, it is an old established Lodge. It caters for people who want the tranquility and outdoorsy stuff. Frankly it is perfect and charming. It is not intended to be a 5 star luxury hotel! The staff are welcoming and warm, the food is really good, it is what we were after and will definitely go there again!

Great spot with super friendly staff and clean rooms. Don't forget to put your order in for a gourmet 3 course dinner.10/10 am doing again!

The room was clean and tidy although basic and on the dated side. The beds were comfortable and the view was nice. The meal was outstanding with very fast, efficient and foreign staff service. The breakfast was basic and so was the packed lunch. The service at reception was exceptional, the lady spent a lot of time talking to me about the ride and encouraging me to do it. She was a real sweet heart.

Excellent place to go for a quiet place to chill out. Stunning views and the open fireplace is lovely at night.

The location is absolutely stunning beautiful views from the balcony. The team who looked after us were excellent, the rooms are dated but it was clean an the hazy pale ale perfectly cold. Beer and wine prices are excellent incredibly good value
