Great fish. We had red snapper and gem fish which were tasty and succulent. Mussels and scallops were missable. Watch out for the chips, portions are massive. Half scoop of chips was enough for 3. Lots of seagulls but they can't do anything about that. Not that many indoor seats, luckily weather was good and there were outdoor seats.

Absolutely amazing fish! I have never had such a fresh fish in my live :)Don't forget to bring your own beer ;) and if you like mayo and not ketchup as me, good to have also your own :)Be ready for some waiting between 11:30-13:00, we were there around 11 and no line at all ;)

one piece fried fish only cost $5.50, probably the cheapest price until now I’ve saw in NZ.not only price is cheap, but the freshness, and the texture, everything is so good.must visit!

Best fish and chips in New Zealand. Fresh, great portions and price. Delicious!! Have returned many times.Nothing fancy about the place, but you sit in front of the sea and the food easily beats the taste and quality of a fancy restaurant.We tried fish and chips of course, raw fish, mutton-bird (hard to cook but delicious) and seafood salad, and there’s a lot more options to try.Highly recommend it

Lovely spot and so nice to see people sitting as a family to eat right by the shop. The food was on point. Fresh fish cooked perfectly with amazing batter. The tartare sauce was the creamiest I've had. Enjoyed by both adults and children.

Do go here! The fish and chips are about the best we have had, surpassing even the famed Manganui fish and chip shop. Excellent prices, sizeable serving and great ambience. Obviously a prized place for the locals - no better recommendation! Thank you Bobby's, your place is fish & chip perfection.
