The Herb Farm

The staff at the shop impressed us the most. She was friendly and shared information about The Herb Farm, its owner and their products. It’s a pity that it is winter and one can hardly smell the fragrance from the herbs. However, this place has an interesting them of elves and fairy. It has sign post and boards that are educational and encouraging. The greatest regret is that we didn’t make any reservations and couldn’t dine at the cafe. But we are glad to walk with the natural products produced at the farm!

Took visitors to the Manawatu to the Herb Farm for lunch yesterday. Hard to choose what to have, lots on the menu that was tempting. We were all happy with our choices and the excellent service, won’t leave it so long to revisit in the future. Beautiful good and great service. Just one thing the weather blinds wouldn’t quite shut and one of our group was in a bit of a draught, then the beam above decided to drop rain drops on her. It is the middle of winter though .

The herb farm is about 20 minutes drive from Palmerston North, tucked away in the farmlands between Ashhurst and Bunnythorpe. Parking area is gravel and close to the building. The gardens are amazing to see with a descent variety of herbs planted about. They do have a meeting room available. There is also a spa beauty shop. Their Cafe is well laid out with good seating options. The service can be slow during busy times, we had our orders taken at our group booked table which was good however had to wait in line for 20 minutes before we could pay upon leaving. Their menu pricing is on the higher end. I ordered a herb farm big breakfast, which was delicious but overall think an extra slice of bread as I only got one slice with two eggs and another mushroom would match the price. The eggs Benedict looked lovely too with lots of hollandaise, the other dishes order at the table also looked lovely. Coffee was good, perhaps a bit small but did not ask for a large. The Bottles of water filled with Mexican Marigold was a real treat. The view out to the blue gum tree was lovely with fantails birds flying about. It is definitely worth visiting and can be the perfect romantic spot for couples.

Lovely location but rather disappointed with the food. We ordered two pumpkin soups, one sausage roll, three cakes and two coffees, total cost was $69.50, food was very average.

Nice cafe at a more rural area, quiet and chill environment, nice to be in the nature.Food is great for its price and the plating is picture worthy.Very friendly service, fast serving with a big smile.The shop has some pretty interesting goodies too. Nice to just browse around.

Not far off the main road. Plenty of parking.Nice shop full of body products like exfoliating cream, masks, face cream, body cream, etc.Next door to the shop is a cafe. It looks like a fantastic place to come to on a warm, sunny day with all the outdoor seating. Inside is cosy and welcoming.We ordered coffee to takeaway and didn't enjoy it unfortunately, was a bit weird the flavour.I'd be keen to come here with the family for breakfast or lunch.My husband walked around the garden and unfortunately with all the rain it was wet and not easy to walk around, it was also very cold!It's worth a stop, I'll definitely be back in warmer weather.

Myself, and some friends, and our kids came out here today for lunch. We were told there was an hour wait because they were busy which was fine. There wasn't really anything kid friendly on the menu except pizza for $12.50 and a kids picnic box for $13.90. I would say once we received them that they are for kids aged 6 and under which wasn't stated on the menu and would mean you have to spend a large amount of money buying your children adult meals. You couldn't even buy a bowl of fries for the kids! Once the pizza" came out it was actually just a piece of bread with some shaved ham slapped on top with cheese. Crazy amount to be paying for that! They also removed ham from two pizzas even though we only asked for one pizza to have no ham. We didn't want to send it back as we didn't want our child waiting another hour for ham.The staff forgot the kids drinks

The food and coffee are *chefs kiss* superb! The atmosphere is lovely and fun for kids. I love that there are allergy friendly options. The service staff are friendly and helpful. The Forrest walk area is cute and entertaining. Will definitely be going back again and again.

Had the most amazing day at the herb farm today catch up with friends that hadn't been together since before covid. The staff were amazing, so friendly and accommodating going above and beyond. The food was outstanding we decided long before leaving this will be our regular catch up spot
