We wish we could give 10 stars, as Max as the best photographer we could have every hoped for when it came to our wedding day. Max not only put everyone (including ourselves when nerves were very high!) at ease on the day, but brought so much positive energy to every room and made us laugh the entire time. He absolutely nailed our brief of having natural, fun, in the moment photos and we are so glad he was the one to capture our day! Cannot highly recommend Max enough to anyone considering him as their wedding photographer.

We used Max as our wedding videographer at Baylys Farm and could not recommend him enough! He brought the most amazing and fun vibes to our day and made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera! Our video turned out perfectly and showcased some of the best moments of the day! We can’t thank him enough!

Max impressed us from our very first zoom meeting. He displayed a genuine interest in getting to know us as a couple, our story, and our vision for our wedding day. His engagement before, during and after the wedding was outstanding. He really went above and beyond.Max and Dani, who he brought along as videographer, brought such an infectious positive energy to the day and made everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera. We had so many guests comment on how great they were.And most importantly, the results were stunning. We were blown away by the incredible photos Max captured, even in challenging weather conditions! He has an extraordinary knack for catching the subtle details, candid moments, and emotions in a timeless and natural style. Looking back at our wedding album and film is like reliving it all over again.Thank you so much for exceeding our expectations and giving us memories that will last a lifetime.

Max! You went above and beyond for us on our special day and at the end of it left us with the most amazing photos. Your energy, excitement, helpfulness, and pure love for photography is what makes you a one of a kind photographer. I’m not even sure where to start with Max and Moments and Waves. From the get go he was amazing. We met for a coffee to talk the possibility of him doing the photography for our wedding, and 2 hours later we were still chatting, wedding bits and life in general. He was so personable, upbeat, energetic but also professional. He came with a vast knowledge of what to expect on our wedding day, with many creative ideas. Throughout the 8 months from our first meet to our wedding day Max was fabulous with his communication. Lots of helpful emails, not just photography related, but also wedding checklists etc. Our venue was a private property, one that he would not have been too previously, but he made the time to come out and walk around so that he would get an idea of what could be done on the day.Then the big day arrived. He bounded in with just as much excitement in his belly as we had in ours. He worked his @rse off during the day, and the results were amazing. We had our sneak preview within 24hrs and less than 4 weeks later we had our full album to view.We cannot fault Max in any way. If you are after a photographer for your wedding, he is your man! Max, thank you so much for being part of our day xxx

I recently had the pleasure of working with Max from Moments and Waves Photography at a wedding, where I was the celebrant and Max was the photographer. I gotta say, working with Max was an absolute delight from start to finish. He's such a pro, and also such a good time to be around. He really made life easy for everyone involved!Photography as an art/science is pretty mysterious to me, but Max clearly has a real knack and passion for it, and loves to innovate ways to better deliver for his couples.For anyone getting married anywhere near the Bay of Islands (or any event requiring photography I guess :) ) I'd recommend giving Max a call.Thank you Max. We absolutely love our photos Max, you captured the day perfectly for us! We are usually uncomfortable in front of a camera, often running in the opposite direction! and yet, you guided us through the day putting us all at ease and making us feel RAD lol your images beautifully bring all the things we love together... our family and friends, food, flowers, laughter, tears of joy and sadness, dancing and haka...and Us.
