Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools

Definitely need to buy the tickets in advance if you visit during the public holidays. Bought the twice entry tickets on the first night when we arrived. Highly recommend to come after 5pm so the pool is not packed. At the entrance, even I had the ticket already, still wait for around 6-7mins while the other side, people wait longer to buy the tickets. If you already wait at the entrance, you probably won’t get the locker as it maybe sold out. Kids pool is the most popular one, the temperature is good for the cold day.

highly recommend.Nice place, family friendly. Value price. Plenty of pools, water is clean. With good view. For all season.Changing room is clean and tidy. Could spend whole day in the pool.Plenty of car park.It deserve 'best pool and spa in NZ' title, I can say, from 14 years NZ resident's opinion.

Hot spa! Very fun slides and hot water! Great time. Bit expensive but well, not really. $160 for 2 days for 5 people(3kids) in 2023. With inflation it’ll be $1,060 in a couple years! Hahahah! Two slides are down but there’s no discount. Lockers are $8 for the day. Well staffed with attentive life guards.

Thoroughly enjoyed this place with 2 kids and 3 adults spending a fair bit of time there. The pizzas at the cafe are pretty good as well. My favourites are the Rock pools as the temperature is just right. Would love to go back when in the South Island again. ♥️

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The pools were all very nice and clean. The locker process was very simple. There are also water slides for those younger at heart

An hour and half drive from Christchurch must visit place if you are a tourist in NewZealand well wroth it, good romantic place for couples plus the soap you provide after the shower is so great must use it…

A great time at the thermal pools, plenty of room for everyone and lots of choices for temp and depth. Loved the slides, from fast to faster but all very safe. Cafe on site and you can hire lockers. Plenty of staff on site to assist if needed.

Visited over the long weekend, it was so crowded but I had the best relaxing weekend. Purchased the tickets online (recommended) so it was a quick queue, collected the tickets, rented a towel and a locker.I soaked at the rock pools for hours. Amazing, relaxing time!The kids had the best time at the conical and superbowl, unlimited swim at family pool.The change/shower room is awesome, there is a spinner for swim suits, the shampoo/conditioner smells soooo good and the lotion with cedarwood is amazing. Plus there is a hairdryer. Overall great experience. Sure we will come back not on school holidays.

We ended our summer break with a trip to Hanmer Springs today!We pre-purchased our tickets online - entry for the 6 of us (2 adults and 4 kids - the youngest is under 5) and 2 pizzas (enough to adequately feed everyone) came to $119. The value for money is amazing considering there is something here to suit all ages, the price is all inclusive and there are no time restrictions.The reception staff, kiosk staff and the lifeguards are welcoming and super friendly. The customer service we experienced today was exceptional!The toilets and change room facilities were extremely clean - which is unusual for a place as busy as this!The grounds are absolutely stunning - incredibly well kept and litter free. There is plenty of shade, tables & chairs and sun lounges. Lockers are available but we didn't utilise them today.I couldn't fault a single thing about our experience today!Thank you very much to all of the staff - we can't wait to visit again soon!

Great place to visit and relax in the hot pools. 23 hot pools ranging from 36° to 42° in temperature. Everything has been updated since I was there a few years ago and the whole place looks great, very clean, lovely gardens and some hot pools even have shade umbrellas. There are change rooms and a cafe onsite too. People over 60 can enter the pools at a discounted price. Well worth a visit.
