Gerry’s Charcoal Chicken
Haven't been here in a few years. Prices have increased by a few dollars or more. Portion sizes seem a bit smaller than what they once were as well. Food was tasty but cold chips.

The lady that served me was friendly. I went for the 1/2 chicken and chips. It was great bang for your buck. I probably should have gone for the 1/4 chicken. The chips are on point with great seasoning. Gravy is simple but banging. The atmosphere was interesting - you feel like your in a diner on Route 66 in the US of A. They have a nice brick wall that should put a photo of the man, the myth the legend - Gerry!

I would give 5 stars if it was a few months ago. Chicken recently is overcooked or burnt. Hope owner can pay more attention to quality too. Roast vegetables are still quite nice.Edited on 1/Oct/2022Revisited recently, chips are still really awesome. Chicken is nicely cooked as well.

UPDATE...!!EMAIL REPLY FROM OWNER AT BOTTOM OF MY REVIEW!!My question is who owns this place now??Iv been in there 3 times this year each time interesting experiences first time 20min wait second time I ordered 2 1/4 chicken meals and they tried serving me 2 chicken and chips instead the third time was the worst I waited about 20 minutes for them to decide if they had enough chicken for me to order 2 1/2 chicken meals so not a massive order... note it was 7pm on Friday night.. I was then told the wait was going to be awhile " the staff couldn't give me any indication what so ever a wait time... my question to the owner is how are you meant to have customers order or wait when your stuff have no clue what is actually going on even though they are the ones running the show...??Is there any adults around there cause it appears to be young collage age children??Disappointed used to be a nice meal now its hard to even get a meal out of them...Email response as follows...Hi Dean

First time here. Found this place via Google search. Was curious to try based in Star reviews. Seems like I had missed the boat as business has changed ownership. Personally if you've had a hot chicken from countdown or pak n save then your not missing out on much. Bought the family pack and there was more flavor from the chicken salt on chips then there was on the chicken. Gravy tastes packaged. Everyone has there own experience. Mine wasn't so convincing or satisfying. 2 star generosity

Very friendly staff. Place was clean. Chicken was moist and chips were crunchy and perfectly cooked. Desserts were amazing especially the banana cake chocolate mousse. Good price for very good dinner.

Gerry’s Charcoal Chicken
Great place to get food poisoning with raw chicken.My chicken was raw on the inside with red blood..Shop was filthy, staff looked like antidepressant couldn't fix them.It's a shame what they've done with what used to be a great place to get food.Never going back there again. YUK.
