Stopped in on my way to our campground. Amazingly friendly staff. Place was empty but I bet they treat everyone just as nice. Had the brisket sandwich and boy was it good. Hope you are hungry cuz it’s big. Very generous servings. The kids meal was a tad too small but I guess my kid eats more than others. Great vibe the beers were great. Took home some velvet stout. Smooth and chocolatey. If I even come back to the beautiful area of New Zealand it’s on my must stop short list.

Great pub with awesome food. Service was excellent and an awesome atmosphere for 4pm Sunday. We ordered the Pork Ribs, Phoenix Burger and the Lamb Burger. All were big portions and delicious. Would of stayed and had a few more beers listening to the live music but had the kids in tow. Highly recommend

This was a great location to stop for a drink and feed. The atmosphere was great and had a beautiful aroma from the fireplace. The food and beer was excellent. I was especially impressed by how they showed off the rest of New Zealand from the TV's and local produce. Thanks for having us!

Really good - the kind of quality one would expect in a much larger city. We enjoyed the Thai chicken salad and 'Herbert Street Haul' (fish and chips). A bit pricey, but by this point in our trip we were used to it.Huge space, but very busy and we were lucky to get a seat without a reservation on a Saturday night.

We drove out from Chch to see Monteith's and it didn't disappoint! We love craft beer and breweries and even though Monteith's is part of the Heineken family now, it's still got some good history and local charm. We got to check out the back area where they use to brew, so cool.Shoutout to Jerry/Gerry, a fellow Canadian from Alberta who made us feel so welcome! Cheers!

This was our first visit to Monteith’s Brewery for lunch. We were a group of 4 vegetarian folks. We had the noodle salad, cauliflower florets, beer-battered fries and Mexican tacos. All the dishes were nice, delicious and well presented. In particular, the cauliflower florets was the best, while the beer-battered fries dish was huge! The service was prompt. The seating and cutlery was good - plenty of space. We finished with a dessert- chocolate brownie- which was superb too.We will be happy to dine here again.
