A very nice little cafe with good off road parking and toilet facilities. At the higher end of pricing but very well worthwhile for a break when traveling.

In my opinion this is by far and above the best lobster (crayfish) location in the South Island. The combination of the food and view as well as access to the main road is without peer. Customer service is also top notch which is a bit better than the temperamental service at nins bin which seems to alter with the tides. The lobster is all top notch even though they let you choose it before presenting it beautifully with a delicious and generous portion of hot chips

The crayfish is so fresh and yummy! You are able to divide the crayfish into two and it comes with salad. We ordered some chips to top it up! Eat it fresh with a great view overlooking the sea

We travelled from Christchurch for a day trip and chose Karaka Lobster to be our food destination. We wanted to give fresh lobster a go as we've never had it straight from it's shell before.A whole cooked lobster was purchased and shared between two people. The lobster arrived to us halved and chilled alongside a salad, toasted garlic bread and chips we added for an extra $5. It was a generous meal, and the lobster was juicy.The woman who served us today also made an incredibly good flat white. The coffee here deserves a special mention.Lovely service, great view and atmosphere, highly recommended for seafood enthusiasts.

Luckily we turned up before the lunch call, we had a cray for brunch, and even saw John Key dropped in by helicopter for their famous sausage rolls..

Coffee was great and hot chocolate too. Friendly staff and we had so much fun on a beach. We will stop for coffee and beach walk again. Long drop toilet but very clean! Heaps of space to park with caravan.
