Ace Rental Cars Auckland City - Victoria Street West

Made a booking and full payment 24hrs prior to the pickup. Booking confirmation email received and for assurance, I've sent emails to ensure the car will be available, got a reply to reconfirm the car will be available.Ace phone called (4hrs before the pickup) and deferred the booking to next day due to car isn't available which does not suit me and therefore have to cancel it.Great inconveniences, as I have to take a taxi to work and scheduled another uber ride to Ace Rental office, and now Ace cancelled my confirmed booking ,wasted my time and money, moreover my payment has not been credited yet! I guess this needs a lot of follow up as well!!!Ace, unreliable service means very bad customer support, so I am glad not to accept to rebook with you.

The price was good, considering we only booked the car 2 days prior. The service was friendly and considerate, but not as professional. We even got upgraded to a nicer car. Would go again.

The out of hours drop off facility is helpful and they are open from 7 am to 6 pm. I couldn't verify the 7 am opening as I got there at 9 am.But when I arrived I found that customers were being made to wait for a long time as their cars were not ready. In my case, I was advised that my car was on a truck from the airport depot.Other customers were made to wait while their car was being cleaned.Ace rentals do have an online booking system, which gives them upfront visibility and so these delays are not acceptable in the 21st century. If open from 7 am, it isn't hard to get the trucks to deliver the cars at 8 am and clean them to make it ready for a customer who wants to pick up at 9 am?A competing car rental company in the same area cleans cars upon return.When writing this review, I along with almost 15 other customers are still waiting for the cars for more than 30 minutes. I can hear the sound of the water hose from the cleaning which is going on....Will update after I actually get the car!

prices are okay. staff is friendly but not always professional. the most annoying thing is that you have to pay and an extra extra insurance when you cant pay the very high bond in this case when you have already payed the full risk insurance that you have no own costs..for me is that a way to make money with you on an hidden way. in this moment when you want to get the car then realized you this. good is the pick up and the pick off service for free. round about 5 km or 15 min far away. but the last time i have to wait for this 25 minutes and the way by car needed only 5 minutes. i called the agency 30 minutes before i was there. that was annoying too.

Do yourself a favour, do not book with these guys. Quick to take your money, won’t answer phone when you arrive when you finally find them and get to their office that’s when the fun really starts. We need another $200 bond in case you forget to fuel up. We took out full insurance when we booked the vehicle but we’re told that was through a 3rd party and if we have an accident it would cost us 5K and then we can chase the 3rd party insurer for reimbursement. Auckland airport was a mess from Gabrielle and trying to find these guys was a nightmare. No emails of help from these people. They were quick to take our $2500. Ace Car rentals are you serious. Very helpfull people and i got a great deal on a car. Definitely better than buying one myself to explore NZ. Since I have insurance included I do not need to worry about any mechanical issue, damage to te vehicle. I also managed to alter my prepaid booking without any hassle.

I found this to be the cheapest rental car company in Auckland. The car I got was in great condition. Paying for the daily insurance was more expensive than renting the car itself but covers for everything. Attention from customer officer in person was good, but when I called the lady on the phone seemed in a rush

As many others have experienced, we arrived but our car hadn't. We booked absolutely months ago so no last minute excuse.They originally told us it would be around half an hour so we sat and waited. They were then informed it would be over 3 hours, but failed to actually tell us, the only customers who were present. We overheard them telling someone else, and then questioned. They said they 'thought we knew'... I wish my psychic powers had worked today!!Would have been nice to receive a courtesy call or at the least an automated email letting us know this morning (as soon as they did) that our car wouldn't be available on time.

Stay away from this place. They're a bunch of con-artists and thieves. Booked a car and paid $600 online. Went in an uber to pick it up just to be told that my credit card doesn't exactly match my license. This apparently was a non issue when they took my money but okay sweet. I'll accept it. They said they would refund my money. A week later and I'm still waiting. I've had to call over 20 times and only twice did somebody actually answer the phone. The first time they told me there would be no refund as it was listed as a no show. I actually had to provide proof that I came into the store. The second time they said it's probably my banks fault. This led to an argument. I ended up hanging up the phone. I'm gonna forward this case to consumer rights. These guys a joke.

Worst experience. Car was not road worthy anymore, old with scratches. In middle of the highway rear bumper got partially detached while I was driving. Based on the fact that it detached without any actual contact with anything, I would assume that the ‘repairs’ that was done some time ago, wasn’t done very well. After returning car I’ve got email that I demaged the car, replied to them and never got email back from them... money was taken from my credit card with no explanations.
