terrible service!!I rented a car over the weekend when i returned the car i left my handbag with cash in the vehicle when i realised i was just jumping on the motorway i hoped off turned around went back the vehicle was moved to cleaning bay they said i would get my bag back im the morning as cleaning bay was closed i also droped the vehicle off a day early . now they are claiming the bag was never left in the vehicle typical “. they are now trying to avoid me i’ve been in 3 times so far and they aren’t cooperating with me properly just sending me on wild goose chases ! it’s been 3 days and nothing g has showed up no call nothing ! everytime i go in they treat me like i’m dumb and didn’t leave my handbag in the vehicle im certain it was there and has now been stolen by one of the staff. SHOCKING

Absolutely shocking serviceArrived to pick up our car from a 6 hour overnight flight from Perth. Waited over three hours in the Avis line to get a hire car once we landed and when finally at the counter was then told there were no cars currently available so another 15-20 min wait had for one to arrive. This at the end of a flight where no sleep was had made for a very poor welcome to Auckland.

I had a terrible time when I picked up a car from domestic on Friday night. Despite handing over my corporate discount vouchers, the agent mistakenly debited my account $517.20. She said it would take 3-5 working days for it to be refunded which is terrible as it left me out of pocket for the weekend. If it's an error it should be refunded immediately.

I picked a car up in Christchurch, returned it to Auckland airport, clean with no damage and a full tank. I’d paid for it 7 months earlier and upgraded it on collection. Avis debited my account, everything was fine. Then, 3 days after I returned the car, Avis debited my account for a second and have not refunded me, despite phone calls and emails. This behaviour is similar to the corrupt Goldcar. Beware of booking with Avis. I’ve gone from a happy, satisfied customer to reporting them to my credit card company. Pointless behaviour by Avis.

We hired and paid for 2 rental cars a month before we arrived at Auckland Airport. We received a email back from Avis stating, we have received full payment and we will have your cars ready on the 8 of January at 1.30am.....When we were cleared out of customs we stood outside a closed Avis counter, no signs no f$%$ing phone number to call, the only counter was opened was hertz rentacar, he couldn't give us an answerTired and frustrated with 3 crying grandchildren we had to wait till 6.00am before they opened up.We spoke to the guy at the counter about what happened, he was not interested he didn't even apologise, he just told us if you have any complaint, take it up with the duty manager......poor service if there was a - 5 star it'll be a negative 20

The abosolute worst rental car experience I have ever had! We rented a car for a month and had to return it two days early due to Cyclone Gabrielle. I was fine being charged for the two extra days but they charged us $1,700 for mileage as well. Even though our contract had unlimited mileage included.We have been home for almost a month and have called customer service at least 5 times. The story is the same as others...they state that they will call the Auckland airport customer support but then no one ever calls you back. And you are never refunded.It seems like this is a running scam to charge international customers more and then hope that they get tired of calling and trying to get a refund.RENT FROM ANYONE ELSE....AVIS IS A SCAM!

I am never going to rent from them or Avis or Budget again! They are just horrible!Worst experience we ever had with any car rental company! They told us we can pay cash, and when we withdrew enough cash they changed their mind. Whenever we tried to talk to them they threatened us with calling security. We had to apologize just to not have them call security even so they treated us terribly!

Absolutely perfect help from Avis. Thank you so much to the kind lady who attended to us on 29 April 2023 at roughly 2pm plus.My husband and I were at our wits end as the car rental company we had booked our car with refused to accept our electronic drivers licence. They were extremely unhelpful and condescending and we were really stressed out as we had a planned road trip.We approached Avis for help and the female staff was sympathetic and so so helpful from beginning to end. She called her manager to confirm how she could help us, and did so much to get us the same car rental arrangements that we had with the other company. She even gave us alternative options when it at first seemed that we would not be able to get a car for the full road trip (e.g. booking an Uber, the price of Uber).In short, she saved our holiday. Many many many thanks to her! I’m so sorry that we don’t know her name, but I think you should be able to identify her based on the date and time.

Juin 2023 - Feedback service complaint service Avis, following my feedback.Excellent contact and handling of our problem.Fast processing and follow-up after reimbursement.What more can I say, the person who handled my complaint was charming and efficient.Which would have been nice from the first email sent, but we learn from our experiences, good or bad, and I think Avis is listening to improve its services.Original claimI hired a car in Christchurch and dropped it off at Auckland airport, and we parked it in the car park at 9:15 AM and put the keys in the box at 9:37 AM.Out of habit, we always take photos of the returned vehicle to avoid unpleasant surprises once it gets home. They serve as proof of the state as well as the refueling is done.We were surprised when we returned to see no Avis employees!!!Everything is self-service, you park the car and put the keys in the letterbox in the airport hall. Result Avis charges us an extra day.I have lost count of the number of emails sent to customer service. Who tells us that we returned the vehicle 4 hours late, so billing for an additional day.But this is totally wrong! This is a way to charge international customers hoping to discourage them in their complaints. Because despite my reminders, photos dated from my phone, geolocated….I told them to watch the surveillance videos of the parking lot….Despite all the evidence provided, nothing no refund.They no longer respond to my reminders!!!!To flee !Prefer a rental company that has staff, who responds to its customers.Avis forgot that customer satisfaction is important
