The Kung Fu School - Whakatane
For the past 7 years Sifu Scott has been my instructor and role model. As an instructor he is fun, energetic and supportive. You will never have the same class twice. Sifu Scott will have you push yourself to be better than you were last class- and he does it in a supportive environment where he makes sure that every student feels comfortable and safe. Sifu Scott’s teaching will raise your self confidence, resilience, and skills.Could not recommend him highly enough. Go along to a class and see for yourself.

My children have been taught by Sifu Scott for the past 5 years. He is patient and friendly, but also teaches them self discipline and accountability, helping them grow beyond just the martial art itself.The Kung Fu school itself is a large well run NZ-wide group that supports it's Sifus and students, encouraging mutual respect and kindness as part of it's core tenets.I highly recommend Sifu Scott and the Kung Fu school.

sifu scott has been my instructor for 5-6 years now, and made a massive difference to my life. He was not only an instructor but also a mentor. His classes are always different and he always finds a way to make them enjoyable. He never fails to make his classes fun with his jokes, but also ensures you learn something new every time.

Sifu Scott, the instructor of this school, has been my instructor over the past 7 years. He is passionate about kung fu and knows what he's doing. I recommend joining kung fu as it is a good way to learn to defend yourself when it is needed and pick up new skills and friends.

Kung fu is an awesome activity to build fitness, flexibility, relaxation techniques, confidence and self protection. It's fun and functional. Sifu Scott sets high standards but has fun as well.Highly recommended.

Sifu Scott is an enthusiastic trainer and has trained my daughter for 5 years. She is now a junior black belt. It has given her such confidence. Kung fu has been her passion and I am grateful to Sifu Scott for his giudance. If your kids or yourself are interested in martial arts I strongly recommed you try out the Whakatane Kung Fu School.

Sifu Scott has been an amazing instructor, mentor, roll model and friend to our 3 children. They've grown up doing Kungfu, 2 now hold black belts and the 3rd is going for brown. As their Mum I feel they've gained the confidence, focus and determination to be successful in their future endeavors. I'm forever thankful to Scott for playing an important part in their lives. His presence, wacky jokes and support is surely missed at Petone Kungfu.

You don't need to hesitate sending your kids to this school. Sifu Scott has perfect knowledge of what kung fu essentially is - achieving a result through developing one's mental and physical strengths. Deep understanding of the training method, solid punching and kicking techniques, comprehensive explanations of every nuance of the form, personal day-to-day commitment multiplied by great positive attitude and a sense of humour - that's what Sifu Scott has to offer! I am very grateful my daughter had a chance to be his student - thanks Scott!
