A very special part of Maori and general NZ history. When the Settler church was seen to be complicit in stealing/dodgy land grabs, the church lost the trust of the Maori people. Native churches were inevitable, the Ratana faith being the biggest that rose up. A beautiful example of peaceful protest against the evil of colonialism.
