Budget Car Rental Auckland Airport

Pick up available from 3pm. We didnt arrive to collect it around 4:30-5:00pm. The car wasnt ready. Long wait for that and for them just to do the paper work. I understand sometimes there will be delays but the gentleman had no customer service what so ever. No apologise no empathy, nothing.We travelled from Australia and have two youngs kids who at the time was very over tired.We waited over an hour outside for no updates on how long it would take. When I go to ask how long I was told 5 mins which then got turned into 30mins.Just awful awful service with no care in the world.Positive: We got the car we wanted and it was clean. Thank you.

Been trying to get ahold of Auckland airport budget rentals for days now regarding property I may have left in the car. Multiple urgent" emails have been sent by the off shore call Centre the calls are rerouted to and yet not a response yet from the team at Auckland airport.Really starting to get annoyed as the item left in the car is expensive and I'm beginning to think I won't get it back.Why are we not contacted regarding lost property the moment it is found? Seems a bit dodgy."

I rented a car before Christmas and dented the bumper in one place. Budget estimated it would be less than a $1000 but took $1440 out. I topped up my credit card by $1500 the next day as the payment emptied it so Budget took another $1440 out as a hold that day. It took my requests and time for them to release the hold. I'm still waiting for invoice and receipt plus refund for the damage that was confirmed as $750 by them. The Australian customer service is unable to get anything from Auckland office.The people in the office were pleasant and friendly so had no problems with the local staff at the time. The car was in good clean condition. It is the after-care that has been hit and miss.

I booked and fully paid for a car rental with Budget Auckland Airport. They took my credit card as security. Once the car got returned thay charged my credit card for additional costs without any approval or explanation. I called 7 times and always got fobbed off with BS what the charge is for and then asked to call another number and speak to another person. No one willing to sort it out. I do not recommend this company.

Avoid if possible. If you for some unfortunate reasons have to rent from them then pray that there’s no issue so you won’t have to deal with customer service afterwards. Probably the worst customer service experience ever. They never provided clear timely responses, you have to constantly chase and follow up. They’ll add mysterious charges to you post fact yet unable to provide clear and transparent breakdown. If they do get back to you, usually it’s some copy and paste generic answer, or refer you elsewhere. Absolutely the worst after service ever.

We rented a car with Budget Car Rental at Auckland Airport and a week later got direct debited over $500 for returning the car a day late (which we were able to prove was incorrect and were refunded for) and for getting upgraded from a sedan to a 4WD. We did not request to be upgraded, we were told that there weren't any available vehicles in the range we selected, and therefore were going to be upgraded. At no point did Budget ask or advise us that this would incur additional fees. Not a choice by us, but a decision by the customer service agent, as there were no other available cars. Absolutely do not use Budget Car Rental for renting vehicles. They make customers pay for their staffs mistakes. I have been trying to resolve this now for 6 weeks.

My company booked the rental car for me, I called to discuss the car parking of my own car. The guy was so nice and told me that yes, I will be able to park the car where the rental car and when I return the car and pick up my car. However, when I drove there and people at Auckland Air port counter said there is NO such option at all, while the lady speaking with me she was eating (how unprofessional it would be?)

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised when I used Budget. We were used to getting charged all over the place and subpar service. This was not the case at all here. The check in experience was great. The agent was so fun and we were laughing with her the entire time. The car was in great shape, ran perfectly, and had zero issues with it. Then dropping the car off was no problem either. Even at a different location. It was done by the time I checked that had all my belongings from the car.

We rented a car for two weeks in January 2023, with the excess reduction option.Both the pick up and the drop off were very quick, correct, transparent and smooth.We were a little worried because of all the negative reviews, but we had no problems with Budget whatsoever.

We came to pick up a relocation car and were greeted with friendliness and amazing service by Kuran and Tura from Auckland Airport. Thank you for making our relocation car experience wonderful and seamless. We will definitely be back and will recommend to other users. Thanks again :)
