We ordered at the counter. Waited 1 hour 30 minutes for our order that was going to be 35 minutes.The 2 young girls were trying their best. The phone kept ringing & they kept taking phone orders. There was only 1 lady cooking, presume she is the owner? She was barking orders at these 2 poor young girls. They should have not answered the phone & concentrated on getting orders out the door. Customers waiting were commenting on the atmosphere and the long wait! I hope they improve their wait time or people drive elsewhere for their takeaways. Feel sorry for those 2 girls, I told them they were doing an amazing job coping!

Not often we get fish and chips brother and I got meal deal sea food basket 1 extra fish and amazing shrimp twist. Folded my passengers seat table down bro sat in back brilliant

The Hoki Fish was mostly batter and dry, the lemon fish left a sour taste in the mouth. I will not ever go there again. Not a good experience.

On point again last night. We get takeaways once a week and are happy to drive the 25 mins to oakura instead of opunake and okato (our locals) Your food is always at a great standard, always value for your money and always a pleasure coming into the store. Damn we got more chips in 2 scoops than we did for $14 in opunake

Awesome $10 value lunch! Had the fish burger meal and have food left for dinner! Beautiful battered fish fillets with pineapple and salad. So good!

Not too happy with the powa fitter looks like not actually what this is mentioned to be is showing in description honestly tastes is not very satisfied rest of the meal was absolutely divine

The snapper was undersized. Looked like a normal size but when you start eating you realise that it is mainly batter and oil. Tip: Buy some toilet paper before stopping here for fish you might need it with this much oilChips are okay but fish was below average specially for the price

It’s a shame that the only fish and chips shop in town serves up such a mess it’s not cheap serves are small and very oily tastes like old fried oil also believe they run the fryers at a low time to get a bigger lifespan out of it which would explain the long wait time don’t waste the time and money here ang do yourself a favour and have a pizza from black sand cafe because that is a 5 starI only write reviews if something is really really bad or great this is a shocker !Feel sorry for the young crew on there
