Hands down the most genuine, reliable, relatable and helpful bike shop in Christchurch. Disappointment after disappointment shopping else I am happy to say I have found THE shop. The service that the team at Hub provide can not be topped. Shop/service with absolute confidence.

2/1/23 Updated Review: still the best bike shop in Christchurch. My son’s bike derailleur hanger bent after a small crash and we were due to ride the Rail Trail. Andrew kindly sorted the problem quickly and expertly and got us ready to go, no drama.Excellent service, great prices, stand behind what they sell- and sort any problems that do occur. Trustworthy advice- they make sensible suggestions rather than pushing the most expensive or profitable stuff. I was recommended Hub by 3 different people and they were right. I will continue to buy bikes, parts and have repairs done here. They do get busy- but that’s because they do a good job. They are a family business and cover the whole range of levels, and it seems they can get whatever you are interested in even if it’s not in the shop. I’m glad I listened to people who told me to go there and I’m glad I listened to the advice Peter has given me since I’ve started going there.

Always had great service here both retail and workshop.The workshop crew have been very accommodating with me multiple times turning up with a broken bike and getting it in the shop and out again ASAP.Pricing is also very competitive.Big plus their workshop is open kn weekends as well unlike a lot of stores.

Best experience shopping for a bike ever. Super helpful, built the bike I was interested on demand (in a few days), and every staff member I talked to was excellent. All around the best bike shop experience I've had, which is a stark contrast to the nearby Torpedo7 branch.Edit: Wanted to add some info. I had issues with the bike that I recently bought wherein the seat post would consistently sink and twist, and also some shifting issues after a few days.I brought it to the shop three times over the week trying to sort out the problem, and the Hub Cycles team was amazing every single time. Super helpful. The seat post had to be replaced because the problem was persistent, and they didn't charge me anything extra upon replacing it. They also fixed the issues with the rear-derailleur.Very happy how customer-focused this bike-shop is.

Young fella called Matt gave me 5/5 service! Extremely helpful and patient and he gave me a lesson on how to change a tyre. Thanks mate
