I been to this scrapyard for some work but what I see on site is there’s no health and safety. There own bossy people won’t wear any face mask or Hardhat. There’s heavy machinery operating in the yard. One of there health safety lady come to us asked us to wear face mask and hardhat but she’s by herself not wearing any hard hat, All sharp cuts and pipes randomly sitting in yard. Very risky to work in the yard. Thers no space for padestrian to walk and go through moving trucks.There Health safety team needs to work on their safety requirements not like different rules for visitors and different work workers.There should be equal rules for everyone.Thanks to office lady to remind us to wear a mask and we are fully vaccinated. There’s should be no different treatment for office people and workers and visitors. Everybody should be treated with same way.

Guy tried to rip me off for 200kgs of copper unstripped TPS cable. Offered $1.20 per kilo, when I told him that didnt sound right, he immediately said ok $1.35". This guy was clearly taking advantage of me. I called Wellington Scrap Metals Ltd afterwards and they offered me $2 per kilo. Do yourself a favour and drive an extra 10mins for better bang for your buck."

Highly efficient metal recycler - cast iron and bulk scrap steel get taken upon first entry after vehicle drives on weighbridge. Very fast service. For more precious metals, car batteries etc you get directed inside the drive through processing shed - all very easy - staff inspect the metals and then place them on a load cell to check weight. After the staff enter your ID details in their system, their computer system spits out a barcoded printout of your consignment - following placing the bar code under their money machine scanner the machine immediately spits out the exact change in notes and coins - quite an amazing and efficient service. I am restoring an historic house and have disposed of a range of redundant and scrap lead flashings, scrap lead from renewed lead light windows. copper fittings and pipes and broken/severely corroded cast iron spoutings and downpipes in this mannerv and enjoy getting some form of return rather than see the usual disposal in a skip bin by the onsite contractors - in my opinion an average return wrt market scap metal prices but their efficiency of operation and good and friendly experience outweigh any minor margins here or there.
