I've recently moved to Wadestown, which has a few good amenities, one of which is Le Maquis, I agree with most of the above, great food, quirky decor, on a busy awkward street corner that is blessed with an equally interesting matradee, hope to become a regular and happy to recommend.

Nice place to relax on a rainy day as well as the sunny ones! Owner is a nice guy, maybe a little of an acquired taste, but works super hard and makes all the food sold in store. Coffee and food are fine.

Nice relaxing atmosphere in this small cafe. I cannot comment on the food as I only had coffee but that was really good.

Cynical man at counter made negative comments to us as we walked in. When ordering he stipulated how basic his food was and almost dissed us for asking for extra information about his food. The decor was scruffy and dirty. The seating was uncomfortable. We sat outside on cheap wonky metal table and chairs. I ordered the ham omelet. Omelet arrived and I immediately regretted ordering it. It was tasteless and the ham was the cheap supermarket type. Overall I felt ripped off and definitely would not recommend. To the Owner I'd say smarten this joint up and get a chef.

A small spot that makes Wadestown proud, right next to the only attraction in Wadestown (letterbox village), so a perfect day out for all ages.

Stumbled upon this cafe while visiting Wellington recently. Lovely spot, however what a shame that the man serving coffee was very unpleasant and made the most disgusting takeaway coffees I have ever had. Ended up tipping them away. I'm not surprised that there was no one in the cafe.

Yummo. Great stop on sunny morning bike ride for coffee. Highly recommend the mandarin cake. Zingy and summer like.

Reheating an $8 pie in microwave made it piping hot and when ate it later it fell to bits making a real mess.Lemon cake was drier than the gobi desert, salted caramel coffee was so-so.Paid $18 for the entire takeaway experience, two stars cos the decor and feel of the place is cool...maybe the other non cabinet food is better.
