Nelson Tasman Motorhome Hire

We hired a motorhome from Jamie at Nelson Tasman Motorhome Hire during the April school holidays for 2 weeks. This was our first experience hiring and driving a motorhome and we absolutely loved it. Jamie gave us plenty of helpful tips and tricks, not to mention stopover suggestions whilst we were down south. We did however book into camping grounds each night. We preferred the security of camping grounds and the fees at each site were extremely reasonable, so this meant we didn't use the onboard toilet or shower. This area became an extra wardrobe of sorts as we had tramping boots and jackets etc. We did have 2 extra adult sons join us for 4 nights in Queenstown and even though the motorhome was large, it was still a rather tight fit squeezing past each other. It took us a few days to adjust to the rattles and bangs of cutlery and cupboards etc but on the whole it worked out well. The TV didn't operate even in the better satellite zones but it didn't really matter as we loved our independence and we were often out and about. We hired a camper for a week to do a top of the south tour with our young family.From the first conversation with the owner Jaime we knew we would be well looked after and have a great trip.The van was delivered nice and clean complete with all the necessities (kitchenware/linen etc)Jaime explained how to operate and included an easy to use manual. The van was nice and modern so easy to use.We travelled with our 4 year old and a baby and found we had plenty of room to relax in.We had regular txts from Jaime to check we were all ok on our trip which was great service.On our return to Nelson the van was collected from us at home making everything so convenient.Highly recommend Jaime and his fleet at Nelson Tasman Motorhome hire, you won’t be disappointed.Such great memories we will treasure forever.

We hired a motorhome from Jamie over Easter to trip around the top of the south island. I had looked at a few options over this period, and it seemed that NTMH was the best value for money (size/amenities of motorhome vs cost). Jamie was very helpful when I had a list of questions, as we had never hired one before. He was also very accommodating with bringing the motorhome to us at the airport and dropping us off at the end of our trip. The motorhome itself (Buzz), far outweighed our expectations. It was a decent size, had everything we needed, and the sound system was awesome! We pretty much freedom camped the whole time, and loved every minute of it! We highly recommend Nelson Tasman Motorhome Hire, esp as it is a smaller local business who really cares for their customers, and for the motorhomes.

Even though we couldn't book with Jamie in the end due to covid restrictions we can fully recommend his highly professional services. He refunded our deposit without any question when it was clear our rental had to becancelled. If we ever have the chance again to travel to NZ from the other part of the world Jamie is going to be out first stop.

We have recently returned from a 24 day tour of the South Island where we largely followed the recommended route on the Nelson Tasman Motorhomes Website. This was our first experience of motorhoming and, after such a fabulous experience it is fair to say we now have the motorhome bug! The quality of the modern vehicle supplied by Jamie and Kath was superb, and we enjoyed just over 3 weeks of trouble free motoring. The handover and personal touches from Jamie was first class, and as rookies we were left feeling confident and comfortable after our introductory tour. The motorhome was well equipped with towels, linen, as well as kitchen and bathroom basics, so we were able to start our holiday straight away knowing the essentials were covered.We would not hesitate to highly recommend Nelson Tasman Motor Homes and are sincerely thankful to Jamie and Kath for their help and advice in the planning of our holiday, and then the support whilst we were touring. Jamie had a copy of our itinerary and regularly kept us updated regarding weather issues or similar.
