Ohope Christian Fellowship Church

Absolutely LOVE this whanau!!! I've been coming for over ten years and it's my home away from home. I've been encouraged to grow spiritually, find my identity in Christ and step into all that God has planned for me. I love the leadership and the equipping of the saints. The Holy Spirit is always welcomed, felt strongly and sought after.

Awesome people at this church, they're like family. I've been coming here for almost ten years. The presence of God is strong here and is gettting stronger all the time as people grow in faith.

My name is Jessica Ford and I was excommunicated from Ohope Christian fellowship church as i was living with my partner and was given the choice to marry unfaithful boyfriend or leave the church . So I find it strange that Graham Turner can't remember this as it was hugely hurtful lonely time being told that I could not attend church, contact member of the church which also consist of many of my family member. Luckily I am still very close with my family but this could ended very differently. Sadly you have to give it a star to publish reviews.

This is a warm and caring fellowship of believers who are genuine in their love for others. We received such a friendly welcome and loved the Holy Spirit led worship and excellent biblical teaching.

My step-daughter took up smoking at 17 as her then boyfriend was a smoker. She had innumerable attempts at quitting but always failed to give up. She had tried all types of anti-smoking programmes including medications and patches to no effect. Her mother persuaded her to come to Ohope Christian Fellowship on a Sunday when a visiting speaker was preaching. She was prayed for by this man, who had a deliverance ministry, and stopped smoking immediately. That was 12 years ago and she has never smoked again. She says she can't even imagine that she ever smoked. In the early eighties I injured my right wrist after a long session with a large power drill. I had various treatments which had no effect. Sometimes the pain was so great I thought that I might have to give up work.I subsequently moved to Australia and after a couple of years I got a job as a teacher. My wrist still troubled me and I often had the thought that I may have to give up work. In 2002 I moved back to Whakatane and started attending Ohope Christian Felllowship. A couple of years later a lady at church said someone here has a sore wrist. She prayed for healing for my wrist and after a few weeks I noticed that my wrist had stopped aching. I have had no further trouble except that which anyone would get from overuse or exertion.

Ohope Christian Fellowship has been our home church for the last five years - we have found this to be a safe place to learn, grow and connect with incredibly loving people. OCF have a heart for people and the wider community.

I am a member of this church, and have been for 20 years now. We're an eclectic bunch trying our best to follow Jesus in a relevant, loving style. This church is led by a team - so there's always someone to talk to, and discuss ideas with. OCF is part of the New Life stream of churches.

This church is my spiritual home. I love the diversity of people, the honest exchange of ideas, the openness to doing church differently and to be organically responsive to changing needs while being committed to age-old truths and principles. I like the fact that we have great relationships with all other churches in our area and work together collaboratively for the good of our community.

Great to see OCF still going strong after 30 years. I last visited at least a decade ago with my wife when we were visiting from Australia and then the past two weekends. There were many spiritual gifts being exercised last Sunday and a great message from Rob Packer the previous weekend. OCF has a prophetic growth stage ahead and pastors Graeme and Judy Turner are faithfully serving and expecting to see that come about.
