Very informative staff who are committed to the philosophy of the place. Tranquil and grounding, filled up the cup being in such a old and special place amongst the trees.

It was a damp day that we visited, and we were grateful there were big umbrellas available for us to use! What a wonderful place to wander around, and the gift shop is awesome, too! Well worth the visit :)

We did a jeep tour with Martin which was amazing. It was really informative - we thoroughly enjoyed learning the history and understanding the value of this incredible resource. We were served a delicious lunch at the beautiful Tasty Leaf cafe which completed this experience. We highly recommend a trip to this beautiful place which surprised and delighted us. I had a fabulous walk through this beautiful space. I liked the trails and way that this was very natural. It was peaceful and quiet with lots of bird noises. It is about 20 minutes drive from the roundabout. Keep up the great work.

Stayed at the lodge. Comfortable room. Communal bathrooms, kitchen and sitting room/library were clean and well equipped. Gift shop and little cafe onsite. Many options of beautiful and we'll maintained walks throughout the arboretum with a unique playground for children.

Stunning!!!!Lots of parking, including areas for bikes and accomodation users.Beautiful incline entry to the main reception building, which also includes cafeteria, discovery room, giftshop, accomodation rooms and toilets. Gorgeous outside eating area.Map from reception is a great guide to help navigate but here are so many paths which make for lovely exploratory walks.Many different styles of planting that make fantastic use of external views and vista's while creating gorgeous showpieces within.Can't wait to go back!!!

What an awesome experience. Stopped in here for a cycle on the Motu trails to Rere Falls and decided to investigate it and do a short walk. What an impressive history and NZ treasure. Did a short walk (yellow) but will be back to do longer walks on next visit to Gisborne. Such a variety of trees that you cannot even imagine. If you have the time visit it!
