New Lynn War Memorial Library

I was here with a friend of mine to organise a Workshop in one of their Meeting Rooms. I must say, this room is well equipped and is a great choice for a group of 15-20 people. It has a tiny kitchenette of its own that has a microwave, hot water facility, cups and other basic requirements. There’s table and enough chairs with a white board and marker pens. We were able to use this spot without any issues and I might return here for another workshop at some point. Would highly recommend! :) Cheers

Excellent environment. They have ample physical book collections. Also have the computer and internet access facilities in level 1. I especially loved their 30 minutes with children and kids under 5, like wriggle and rhymes.

I'd forgotten what a jewel in the crown" libraries are! I brought my granddaughter and we enjoyed the pleasant vibe as we walked in. The 2x staff members (stuff the p.c police!) ...2x lady staff members that helped me in my bumbling efforts to log into a computer using my library card

The library is in a great location and tourist spot area and good equipments of books and materials, however staff here are unfriendly, unprofessional and unhelpful! I would say need more humanity Training and Never bring personal life to work.

this library is my local library that I have grown up going to. It has a beautiful lay out and lots of current books but I'm sad to say that most of time that I am here the loudest and biggest distractions are either the one off child or the librarians themselves. It makes it quite difficult to concentrate.

Great library in a super convenient location! Only downside is that I wish it stayed open later on the weekend, at least until the same time as the mall maybe? It's spacious and airy inside, it doesn't feel too crammed like some libraries where I have trouble walking around with my baby buggy inside. I haven't had much interaction with the staff, but some are more personable and friendly than others though. Great collection of books and loads ofmagazines especially craft/hobbies ones. I'm a knitter and Dyer and they've got the biggest selection here. I've yet to attend one of the many fun sessions for babies, I really must give one a try.

Front desk service needs to be more helpful particularly with first time users like myself.Went in today to print some documents and front desk was so grumpy and looked so unhappy with life and were not helpful at all. Need alot of improvement with customer service.

I have been to this library before and had good experiences but today the staff were having a meeting in a room beside the kids area with the door open. A lady came out and told them to be quiet I said it’s hard for 2 year olds to keep it down and she advised it wasn’t a play ground. Well to two year olds it seems like it is and I am not going to stop them being enthusiastic about reading books. I understand being respectful but she was very rude and we could hear the meeting with staff complaining which is unprofessional. I didn’t even feel comfortable taking any books out. Why have a resource like this if you don’t expect it to be used? Maybe this message will give the staff something to complain about in there next meeting or maybe they should have meetings in closed rooms.

Unfortunately there is a lady with grey hair that is not welcome to us at all, she does not like to help my 10 years old girl and when she asked her for a book she Saud go to paper plus and buy it, that was the second time that this happened and my girl was so embarrassed this time and said to me ; I am always so respectful to this lady but she does not like me for some reason and, it broke my heart as my daughter taught something is wrong with her that the lady does not like her and doesn't like to help her,In the kids area there were a teenage couple lying inside which was not comfortable but she just keep warning a little girl that was climbing up and down,So embarrassed and never go back there again,
