We had the fried chicken eggs Benedict and chicken waffle and two coffees, pretty good ,chicken was excellent, waffles a little dry and coffee very milkie. Good value all up.

Made a trip over from te awamutu for lunch, traffic was looking a little rubbish so called ahead to see when kitchen closed, was told 2.30 like all days. Arrived at 2.10pm to place an order fizzing for my chicken waffles, to then be told the kitchen was now closed, upon enquiry about the fact I was told 2.30 I was rudely shut down and told to order from the cabinet. Even the first lady serving originally seemed surprised. We frequently make the trip over for my wife's dietary requirements, however after this experience it's a total put off. The foods always been good, but the service has consistently been crud. There was jack all In the cabinets, didn't get anything at all. Wasted trip.

My husband and me had chicken salad this morning, fantastic staff serving us, lovely coffee but huge disappointment as we waited quite a long time for overcooked fried burnt chicken a few thin slices of cucumber some dried green leaves as you might get from a packet and dry brittle noodles. Two weeks ago our chicken salad was delicious. What’s the reason for the change? For what I paid this was not fair custom. Taking a break from the cafe. All the best. Te Makao

Joined my sister & her kids for lunch at Hello Stranger. Fantastic choice for lunch. 2 kids shared a plate of loaded wedges (adult size), which they struggled to finish. 1 kid had the pancakes from the kids' menu which was supplemented with wedges from the other plate so may have needed to be bigger.Sister had chicken & waffles as she had never tried that before. Tasted great even though it was a bit sweet.My roast vegetable salad was amazing with a fantastic citrus sauce on the side.Haloumi slightly over cooked but not a big deal.All round very happy lunch!!!

Had their mushroom, spinach filo out of the cabinet, was delicious and loaded with mushroom.Update: no mushroom filo today, but tried their gooey camembert, which was pretty good. Staff were also very good about making an iced chai which isn't listed on their menu

Great keto and low carb options. Creamy mushrooms were ok. Almond today were good. Coffee was ok. Not busy at breakfast. Parking isn't free, but there is a lot. Friendly staff. Lots of seating. A good cafe!

Definitely a five-star cafe. I had the keto big breakfast and it was delicious. A great cafe for all tastes.The waiting staff were very friendly and professional. My coffee came out fast followed by breakfast.I highly recommend Hello Stranger cafe.

Don't you just love it when you walk in to a cafe where you feel immediately welcome. A beautiful kia ora and seeing staff who clearly enjoy working together as team. Lot's of genuine smiles and laughter. The server's make you feel special and cared for. The coffee and breakfast was totally on point and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. What an amazing experience and I would happily recommend Hello Stranger Cafe.
