Avani Auckland Metropolis Residences

We stayed 3 nights here and enjoyed it. Our room had everything we needed, including a washing machine, clothes dryer, dish washer and coffee machine. We had a great view from the 24th floor and could even see the Sky Tower out to the right of our balcony. Our room was serviced daily, staff were friendly and helpful and the bed was comfy. There's also a heated pool on site and parking for an extra cost. The hotel is also in a central location, walking distance to Queen St, Sky Tower and multiply bars, restaurants, cafes and grocery stores. The down side was the room could get a bit noisy with the neighbours coming and going and the kitchen floor could do with a better clean, especially under the dishwasher. Otherwise, everything was great.

The staff were amazing! So friendly and helpful.Unfortunately the rooms are a bit dated and the air con could not cool the room down when it was stuffy and humid. The staff tried helping but admitted there wasn't much they could do.

I loved to stay at this place. Located in the city, it’s very easy to go around. The hotel is massive. Staff is friendly. The room view is from the 26th floor, amazing view.There’s a big indoor swimming pools, sauna and 2 jacuzzis. I loved to spend time there because it’s open until 11pmThe only bad thing I would say that the room wasn’t very cleaned but it didn’t affect us.

Great place to stay. Clean, spacious, great view, close to everything and great service. We will definitely be back.

Dear Viresh, Regarding your response to my review, after 23hs you are well aware that all complaints go through the HOTEL reception. Therefore, my experience with your rude staff and the lack of action regarding the noises coming from YOUR hotel guest is directly related to the hotel itself. As a result, my review is very well-founded.-------------------------------------------I recently moved at Avani Metropolis, a hotel that offers both hotel rooms and residences. Unfortunately, my experience has been absolutely terrible due to several issues with the hotel.First and foremost, the staff is consistently rude and unhelpful, both at the hotel reception and the residents' reception. The manager, in particular, is extremely arrogant and dismissive. When I complained several times about the noise and parties happening in the hotel, the staff never provide any solutions, only excuses. I was told there is nothing we can do" or "you should call the police." When I did call the police

Overall experience:- Not bad. For the price, it didn’t feel like we got good value.Cleanliness:2/5 - while I understand there is a shortage of staff in general, it’s a bit unacceptable to find really old looking trash cans and dust in many places in the roomsLocation:5/5 - location was great, easy to walk downtown and close to the state highway if you need to driveRooms:Most room sizes are large so that was good but the furniture inside are outdated and not particularly comfortable.Not sure if I will stay there again.

Came here for a work trip and was really impressed. Fantastic suite, spacious and elegant. Great location, would love to stay here again.

Very unhappy stay, staff were okay. Although the room/s (We had been upgraded but there wasn’t any improvements from the first room. Couldn’t get another place last minute due to New Years making it expensive. ) we had been put in was dirty, mould in the sinks, stains on the curtain that looked a lot like dried blood that had tried to be wiped but was still very visible, carpets were stained, scratches and marks on the walls as well as make up marks, sink wouldn’t drain, the mirrors weren’t wiped and neither were the windows which had hand prints, had found a dead bug inside of the photo frame in the living area which was easily spotted, dust everywhere. Although we had been upgraded we could not be bothered to take it up any further because it was a long trip to the hotel and we were very tired and after the upgrade that it was clear we weren’t going to get any improvements. Everything felt extremely dirty, the only good thing was the view. Did not enjoy our stay.

Great views, location, and service. However maintenance and cleanliness is lacking in care as there is a noticeable amount of stains, markings, dust, etc. The carpet in the lobby corridor is a good example. The decor in the rooms is also dated and plain. Pool could use some lighting as it's pretty difficult to see anything if you're doing laps. Overall not quite what one would expect from a five-star hotel.

I may have this wrong. 19 years ago, we stayed one night here. Since then, I think they have sold out to a new owner. In turn, the existing Bay Front rooms look as though they have been split in half, and all the internal fitting are not of the same quality. The bathrooms are only one-third the size they originally were. With all the new buildings in front of the bay front rooms, the view has been extensively depleted. It was all a bit disappointing from our first visit.
