The worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. My case was more complex, so I understood there were additional upfront charges and extra time associated for this. However, DataLab had my phone for over 6 months. In this time I’d contacted them to see how things were going and for an update or estimated timeframe. Initially they were good and gave me an update or two. Then as time drifted by, they completely ignored my emails and didn’t call me back when they said they would. It actually started to feel like I’d been scammed out of the money I paid upfront because they seemed to just vanish on me completely. After this whole saga, I got sick of waiting for the job to be done when clearly it wasn’t being done, and as I was moving abroad and requested my phone back. When I originally sent the phone to them it was working. When they sent it back to me in pieces and it wasn’t working anymore and they weren’t able to tell me what had been done to the phone and which pieces were what. I since sent my phone into another data recovery service overseas. It cost me $2000 for the other company to figure out what the hell DataLab had done, and the job was done within 10 days. I’d give DataLab 0 stars if I could. They cost me a lot of time, a lot of stress, and a lot of extra money. Don’t waste your resources. If your data is extremely precious, as mine was, send it elsewhere.

I was very relieved to receive the new drive with all my files - recovered from a degraded SSD. Datalab were professional, friendly, and helpful. The process took a little longer than I was expecting but I was happy to wait as they managed to recover 100% of my lost data.Thank you Datalab.(PS the only reason I didn't click 'good value' is because I have nothing to compare the cost with - job took 10 working days from the time I dropped off the SSD to the time the courier delivered the new drive and total cost (inc data recovery, new drive, and courier) was approx $850.)

I recently lost a huge amount of work that had been saved on a hard drive without back-up. Within 48 hours it was fully restored to a new device, thanks to Datalab. Service was fast, friendly and delivered results. They also offered excellent communication and updates throughout the process.I can't recommend them highly enough for their great work.Thank you Datalab!!

Have used Datalab many times and have found them always helpful and when the recovery is possible they do a great job. When it is not (VERY rarely), they explain why and don't charge for their time. Amazing!

Don't waste your time, no doing the impossible" here. My daughter's phone was water damaged (a specific case mentioned on Datalab's website). Long story short

I had almost given up hope getting my photos from my phone that was dropped in the water! But my friend told me about Datalab. They were able to get all my data back! Friendly team, highly recommend! Thank you!

I am very happy to write this review about one of the best IT companies I have ever had the pleasure to do business with. I was helping an elderly client of mine to help repair a water damaged Ipad with all her memories on it, the communication from Ryan and the team was fantastic and the fact they kept me up to date along the whole process.I can not recommend them enough and I will be gladly sharing their amazing services to all of my colleagues.

I had issues at first after dropping my SSD off at the drop point in Chch, as it took a couple weeks to turn up in Auckland. However, the staff were helpful in tracking it down, and were very prompt in recovering the data in full. Would use them for data recovery again, but I would be relying on my own post in the future.

Useless, don't bother.My phone was broken and I needed help getting data extracted, so I emailed them, explaining what was wrong and asking if they can help.They tell me they can't get hold of me via phone, so they're putting a pin in my request. No other info.I reply to emphasise my phone is broken (hence the request) so I need a response via email to see if they can help. I don't have a working phone to take their call.And yet, another template email response comes to say they haven't been able to speak to me on the phone, so they're archiving my query - again.Honestly don't waste your time. I'm wishing I hadn't.

My usb has been with me since 2008, was damaged and would freeze my pc when I plugged it in. I tried a lot of software's online however knew I had to get a data specialist or risk permanent loss of data. They recovered my data fully so am very happy with their service. Don't risk losing your data, these guys will help you if you pay for their expertise
