The Old Quarter
I've been hoping to try this place for a while and it did not disappoint. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, and the twice cooked spare ribs were phenomenal. The salt and pepper squid is a must! Super recommended!

Cracking food! We had some really fresh Vietnamese food which we loved and super speedy and friendly service. Not to mention the Welly on a plate cocktail was very impressive.

When we walked in, the staff described the food as being a modern take on Vietnamese food. I would describe it as being Vietnamese/Asian food adapted to Kiwi tastes. Delicious, wonderfully plated, but ultimately not as spicy as I would have liked.

As soon as you walk in you can smell the different flavours in the air. The food tasted amazing and came out quick. Its a perfect spot to get together and share the variety of dishes. The staff were attentive and cleared empty dishes quickly. Would definitely recommend.

Really enjoyed my lunch here at Old Quarter. I had only visited here during their dinner hours so I was pretty happy with their lunch selections which tended to be more affordable than their dinner menu. We got the Grandmas Beef Curry, Softshell crab bao bun with pork dumplings, Duck and Orange salad the berry drink and Vietnamese coffee. I really enjoyed the soft shell crab Bao bun with pork dumplings and their salads never disappoint. This was my third time ordering Grandmas beef curry as well. I would say that the berry drink (I can’t remember what it was called) was not worth $10. But other than that loved everything.

Lovely team,,so why the one star review? My one star reviews are given rarely and only to be red markers to alert . The food was good, but Asian it was not. fried rice with tinned sweetcorn? It was good carbs but not egg fried rice as we know it. The team were horrified by a request for red chillis, very politely replied they had none. Or maybe they had some pickled but none fresh. This is fusion done many sorts of easy. Come here for comfort food in a nice place with good staff, avoid if you are looking for Asian food.

A must-go while in Wellington!The staff were super friendly and over-the-top helpful (shout out to Eddy for explaining basically the entire menu to a complete novice).The food was sensational. The smells were mouth-watering and you can tell so much thought and preparation went into this menu and these meals. The depth of flavour was next-level. I had the Five Spice Roast Pork Bao Bun which was deliciously tender and the flavours were amazing. I also had the Bun Cha. I have never had this before but if every restaurant made it the way The Old Quarter does I would eat it for the rest of my life. The perfect combination of herbs and spices and that fish sauce was incredible.All of their drink options looked delicious, I went with the Lychini and I don't regret it. Delicious sweetness/tartiness combo.Will definitely be back.

We ordered many items on the list and shared-as it is intended - SO good! Ribs, Bao Buns, Curry, Dumplings,.. Cannot recommend more. Delicious and people are friendly, atmo is right - price is defo worth!

The Old Quarter
Very good good, comes out quickly and just at the right temperature. Lovely stuff and always ready to help. The pho is outstanding, the boa are delicious and the curry are as good as the rest. The outdoor seating are nice on a warm summer day or evening.
