Last night we had an exceptional experience at this restaurant! The service provided by Gajendra was outstanding - he warmly welcomed us with a smile and went above and beyond to make sure we had an enjoyable evening, especially since my wife wasn't in the best mood when we arrived. His attentiveness and professionalism made all the difference, and we left feeling very satisfied with the service we received.The food was also amazing - everything we ordered was utterly delicious and exceeded our expectations. The quality of the ingredients and the careful preparation were apparent in every bite. Additionally, the cleanliness and hygiene of the restaurant were impressive. It was evident that the staff took great care in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for their guests.Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food and exceptional service. Thanks to Gajendra and the entire staff for making our night a memorable one!"

Really beautiful clean restaurant with welcoming staff . Only got takeout this time got some butter chicken and it was beautiful! So rich and creamy and very tasty,plenty of juicy chicken pieces very generous I don't usually finish everything but I ate myself sick cause I couldn't stop eating it. Also when asked for cutlery they went the extra mile to provide a lil bowl which I thought was a nice little touch. Will definitely be back again ☺️

This picture is a reference for people who have high expectations after reading the reviews. Went there for first time, never going back again. Watery, tasteless curry. With oil dripping all over the takeaway box and carry bag. Terrible experience.

I come here everyweek and am never dissapointed. The lamb rogangosh and Naan are my favorites. Very high quality food and service! A++

Shalimar - The Indian Lounge
May 2023 (Update)Oh dear another disappointing meal from Shalimar. Two butter chickens ordered and were inedible due to excessive salt - surprised as most chefs taste their creations before they go to customers. I want to support local however it is proving challenging - time to give another local restaurant a go.Check your order before the delivery man goes - for the past two orders with Shalimar they have provided two incorrect meals - good Indian however disappointing customer service.

Great food. Out of the 3 Indian restaurants in Pukekohe, I would say, this has the best tasting food (for now at least)! Try their lamb biriyani, very flavourful but not overly spicy/hot. Also, try their bhindi dopiaza if you are looking for something vegetarian! You can always ask them to make the dishes mild if you prefer. Hope they keep up the quality & delicious taste of the food they prepare.

Food was good. Flies were the problem. We spent our entire time there swatting them away. Service was pleasant but slow. No one came when we finished our meals. We had to find them to pay! What made it more maddening was that we were the only customers!

Shalimar - The Indian Lounge
Been here a lot, I usually order the chilli chicken and it is usually a little different from time to time but normally very good, tonight it was very different to normal, very much just tasted like a hot sauce and not a gravy as such, the naan was not what it's normally like it was hard and dry, I don't like saying these things as I refer to Shalimar as pukekohe's best, I'll be back for sure thinking it was just a bad night for them. Service was very good.
