The Observatory Hotel Christchurch

Highly Recommend this hotel- This place is one of the most well appointed hotels I have stayed in New Zealand. The attention to detail is so well thought through, rooms are beautiful and clean and extremely comfortable! The Hotel are staff are excellent and so professional! Also well positioned, close to the city and large park, and close to good places to eat. Highly Recommended this hotel.

Beautiful hotel in great location right in center of town next to a wine bar and the botanical gardens. Staff were super friendly and the hotel has a really cozy main lobby for lounging. Our room and bathroom was clean and super nice.The bed and pillows were the star of the show. Exceptionally comfortable. Best bed I've had in a hotel for some time. Like sleeping on clouds.

This is a great boutique hotel in the middle of Christchurch located in a re-designed old university building. The service here was exceptional. They were super friendly, helpful and really went a step beyond to make our honeymoon stay special even though we were only passing through for a night. The veridian room was well-appointed and spacious with a nice bathroom, a comfortable bed and all expected amenities. The included continental breakfast was high quality. The lounge area downstairs was also quite well-designed. The check-in and check-out process were easy and we had no issues on that end. The hotel is close to the gardens and a nice bar/restaurant, the Cellar Door, with all of downtown within easy walking distance. A great, upscale place to stay!

We did get ready at the Observatory Hotel Christchurch, before we have a family small wedding. I was so in love in the classic architecture and stunning library in the hotel. Also this room for my family to stay the night for the special gift. They did enjoy the luxury hospitality and I am glad I choose the place to let them stay :)Thank you for the had us to support to had a big day.C.Kerr

Everything abut our stay was perfect. The location, beautiful surroundings., staff genuinely making you feel welcome. The room was incredible. Breakfast is fantastic. Would highly recommend

The Building is very beautiful from outside and also situated in an excellent place, which is very close to the botanic gardens . A lot of tourists come to take photos of this building .From inside the rooms are extremely small , probably just a place for a bed , there is no place to move around . The toilets have a cloudy glass door , and if you are with a partner , probably it will be best to step out. There is no room service available, so best to order on Uber eats .

The love child of Hogwarts and HipVille - character and cool. Loved the location with the art gallery, The Cellar wine bar and restaurant (amazing!) and the cute Lumiere movie complex (caught the French film festival) all on the doorstep. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, and while the rooms are on the small side they are very well equipped and comfortable. The lounge with tea/coffee is beautiful and a nice breakfast included. Will definitely return

So beautiful and quirky! This is in one of the old university buildings. The rooms are beautiful including the lobby and outside. There is self parking ($30) right next door. There are some stairs in the building but elevators make most areas accessible and the staff were super helpful on check-in and insisted on taking our bags to our room. The breakfast had a lovely selection without being overwhelming. This was one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in.

My friend and I stayed as a self-care treat, despite the across that we are local. Could hardly have been lovelier. Staff were uniformly exceptional. Cheerful, professional, incredibly helpful. Will come back!

I travel quite a bit and am always looking for something out of the ordinary. This was my first visit to the Observatory and it won't be my last; this beautiful building is an absolute delight. As soon as you walk in, you're aware of its difference, from its luxurious and quirky fit out, to the incredible staff who attend to your every need and then some. Loved the drawing room where I spent some considerable time wallowing in the comfortable sofa, reading the art books and sipping tea.
