Podium Cafe
We normally sit but the day was beautiful after our walk we stopped of for our Berry Muffin and Sausage Roll. Surprised to see $0.20 cents for takeaway bag added to both. It should be standard practice like visa charges to advise the cost.

Podium Cafe
Situated on the shores of Karapiro this makes a great destination cafe, especially on a nice day. I can recommend the cabinet food which was very tasty and will be back to try the menu. Highly recommend the sausage rolls and the cakes were next level too. The cafe itself is on the smaller side and can be noisy, but has great views of the lake and plenty of outside seating with the adjacent playground, ideal for families and adults seemed to find it equally enjoyable. Access from the Cambridge end as the dam bridge is often closed. Signage isn't good. Look for the office and go right instead of heading down the path, especially if you need easy access.

Award winning cafe feature some gourmet breakfast. They also have some bakeries available. The water tap has three kinds of water: sparkling, still and chilled water free of charge for patrons. The speed was fast and the foot was tasty. We ordered Bacon and Egg Benedict - it has two free range eggs with crispy bacon.

Shocking customer service and over priced. We waited for 20 minutes for someone to clean our table from last customers’ dirty plates, spoke to two different waitress to clean our table, no one came, ended up clean the table ourselves and deliver the dirty plates to their counter. The worst is instead of a thank you we were given a good stare at by the female staff I handed the dirty plates too. The same staff also slammed our coffee on our table without saying a word to us.Two regular oat flat white with a fluffy and bowl of chips for $27 ($2.7 for a fluffy?!) a bit pricey? Food is okay but sadly with the non-exist customer service we won’t return and will not recommend this cafe to friends or family.

Drinks brought out quickly. Salmon hash cake was very bland, had to add a lot of salt. Salmon tasted like it came from a can, should've been the highlight of meal. Partners Eggs benedict was average, bacon had no flavor. Might go back because of setting but would definitely order different food next time

Enjoying the day at Karapiro, so decided to have some snacks at the Podium. I ordered a salmon sandwich, which came with salad. The salad dressing was amazing. Loved the salmon. My wife had the keto pie, delicious in her opinion. Worth a visit!

I wrote a review below... warning that race day was not a great day to visit. We have been back and orders were right, service was friendly and punctual and food, oh wow, food delicious. Thanks Podium!Food and coffee was great but I inadvertently visited this cafe on an iron man race day...dont do it...cafe was over run, and staff were mixing up orders. My order was incomplete. There didnt seem to be systems in place for orders with staff wandering around with boxes of food not knowing who it was for! Not great..

Delicious. Beautiful surrounds and the place looks very tidy.Would be nice to have just a couple more items on the menu, but only if the food stays the same quality.There's plenty of things for the young ones to do while you have a coffee or read a book.

Mothers day get together. Nice food, had eggs Benny loads and loads of salmon yummy. Kids playground and chute great outlook. Lovely coffee. First visit, Will definately come back.
