Just arrived from the US this morning and found this place driving by. AMAZING!! Best beer and pizza you will find anywhere. Great service and people. We had beer and Epic Loves Bacon and the Ham and Mushroom pizzas with pale ale and ipa. Fantastic!

Late review from a visit last Friday (23rd June). It's been way too long since I was last here.I arrived around 3, just before the after work crowd started rolling in. Was made welcome by Luke, Wendy and Paddy (and the rest of the team) and quickly got into the new IPA (Snakes) that was on tap.Numbers steadily increased and included workers from the area, families, people celebrating a birthday, people collecting riggers to take home and a few dogs. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, the music is solid and not too loud. The beer is outstanding. I sampled a few more taps through the evening and a couple of cans from the well stocked fridge, before ordering a pizza. My Epic Loves Bacon" pizza arrived and I ate the whole thing by myself. Easily the best pizza I've had. Fresh ingredients and a great thin base.I finished the night with the latest release (tap room only) of the excellent Captain Springs Imperial stout and then grabbed some take out to take home with me.Meet some new people

Super friendly family-run brewery, great selection of beers and awesome pizza. What more could you want? Also a great option if you have an hour or two to kill on the way to the airport.

Unfortunately, this establishment is only a couple of streets away from me and easy walking distance. Which means, my family don't see much of me on Thursdays-Sundays and wonder why all of their gifts are reminiscent of products from the work OfficeMax catalogue (good money saving tip!).I have had the fortune of seeing this fine establishment grow and grow over the years. What started out as a basic, trial pop-up, in-between lockdowns, has evolved into a mainstay of the community. There is a real sense of family that can be found there. You'll often see Luke and Wendy (Mr. and Mrs. Epic) there behind the bar or talking to patrons. The rest of the crew always do well to make you feel welcome and are always up for a bit of banter. The place itself is a hidden gem. Tucked away off the busy Neilson Street, you have to venture down an unsuspecting alley to find it. Once there, it opens up into a wide open space (it is a warehouse/storage facility, after all) with plentiful seating to accommodate large groups of people. There are arcade machines (including some on free play!) for the kids (including the adult kids) to play on. And now, there is also a freshly installed outdoor seating area, with sun shade, for those warm afternoons. Finally, I can’t leave a review without reviewing the key feature(s): the beer and pizza. You wouldn’t be going here unless you weren’t a fan of fresh, great tasting beer (well, they do serve wine, some spirits and non-alcoholic drinks also). Luke and the team have constantly rotating taps of freshly brewed Epic beer. Including some barrels that are reserved only for the tap room and cannot be bought elsewhere. Have a fond memory of an Epic beer you tried previously? They also have a well stocked fridge of many of the classics and limited run brews. And as for the pizza: we can’t get enough of those either. If I have anyone local asking for recommendations for a good pizza place around Onehunga, I always send them here. Good for dine in or takeaway, all of the pizzas are delicious and are freshly made. So, don’t let the inconspicuous entry from Neilson street fool you. Head down that alley, see your weekend disappear as you make your way through their rotating taps and pizza menu.

Hands freakin' down THE best beer I had in NZ.I love a good beer. I love a taproom. I tried quite a many during my 2 weeks in NZ and I was disappointed time and time again to the point where I decided just to drink wine so I would stop the endless cycle of believing NZ beer just wasn't the business.Hours before takeoff on our last day, we stop in here. Long story short, this is some next level, grade A stuff! The owner, Luke, is a chill, funny dude with good stories about how he's come to have a cockpit of a plane in his bar to how he's come around to becoming a three-time winner of the Supreme Champion Beer of New Zealand. They have a good variety EXCELLENT pizza, cold to-go cans, and a couple handfuls of coin-op games. Family friendly here!I am sad that we only found this place so last minute, but my oh my, what a highlight of my trip!(Oh, and if you think you're in the wrong place as you're surrounded by industrial buildings on the drive in, you've found the right spot.)

This place is fun and it’s an excellent option for a spot to hang out and listen to good music. The pizza is very good, the drinks are excellent, and when the live music is happening, it’s even better.

The taproom is located by the Gull on Neilsen Street in Onehunga. It was a bit surprising seeing it there as it seems to be in the middle of nowhere. They do have a fair amount of parking down the driveway but it does get quite full. There is plenty of street parking around though. The taproom is through the warehouse entrance. They have plenty of tables inside and out. There was also an arcade section on the side. The decor is a bit interesting with the front end of a plane by the counter and a cowboy on the far wall. They offer their large selection of beers, as well as gin, wine, cider, and other alcoholic beverages. They serve pizza as food option. The pizzas were decently sized and quite tasty. The pepperoni was a little peppery. It was a nice place for a lazy afternoon enjoying food and drinks.

Love hangs at Epic Taproom. This is a must stop for us when we are in Auckland. We stop in to try some of the fresh brews on the taps and to have a few pizzas for family dinner. They have video game machines that helps entertain the kids. We can also pick up takeaway beers from the Epic collection. If you like a well hopped craft beer and delicious pizza, this is definitely a great place to stop.
