YHA Aoraki Mt Cook Backpacker Accommodation
I've stayed here before 2 times and love it. Nice staff, cozy lounge, very good kitchen and a sauna, all in a beautiful location like mt cook.This time I booked a double room but had to cancel because my girlfriend had already booked another place. My reservation was non refundable but YHA was so understanding of the circumstances that they let me cancel for free.Big love to Richard, legend!- Tom and Soffi

The wifi is free and unlimited! The room that we stayed in was small and the walls were paper thin. The teenage girls who were staying beside us banged their doors and had no concept of courtesy. It was not a very restful stay for that reason. For the price, we could have stayed in a decent hotel close by for the price. For people like us who wants to have a comfortable restful accommodation this is not the place. It is more of a place for the young ones. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything you will ever want including condiments, spices, sugar etc. Their kitchen was the best that I have come across. Service was good as well.

Exceeded expectations! Comfortable dorm for 8, great amenities, thoughtfully decorated and designed. Well equipped kitchen with plenty of fridge space, counters and cook tops. Located in township, be quick to get a carpark.

Excellent hostel in top location. Excellent large clean kitchen and dining area. Plenty of fridge space.Comfortable warm living spaces to lounge in.Dorm room a little small and no privacy curtains. Apart from this it's a great spot.

Probably the best YHA I've been to.The place was cozy, the price was good and the facilities were good.There's a guitar, too :)The wifi sucked though, but I managed because there's cellular reception.Also, the TV is old and doesn't have internet and apps (I did however find things to watch in the DVD collection that was there).Distance to DOC - 15 minutes walk

Best hostel I have stayed at. Warm room, comfy bed and really clean. Will definitely stay again. The only thing was very little sound proofing so you can hear everything. Luckily everyone else was really respectful, and had a great nights sleep.

Wonderful, clean, well equipped YHA! We love the warm cozy feeling of the whole hostel. Plenty of lounging areas outdoors, as well as in the TV room and the living room areas. Cleanliness level is top notch. Bathrooms are aplenty and hot showers are very comfortable.However, if possible, try to request for other rooms instead of the room 10 (8 bed mixed dorm). It's located right next to both men's and ladies shower, so you will get a lot of noise especially if you sleep right next to the door!

The best hostel of my travels in New Zealand. I really enjoyed the ambience of this place, it really gives you the idea you are in a mountain hut with all the wood and the sauna. The staff was also really friendly, and everything from the beds to the living space and the kitchen was top notch! Will definitely come back next time at mount cook!

Best hostel I’ve stayed in in 6 months in NZ. Super clean, very cozy, beautiful decoration if you like wooden chalet style. The little space with mats provided to practice yoga is a great idea. On top of that, very kind staff. Highly recommended !!!

YHA Aoraki Mt Cook Backpacker Accommodation
Loved our stay here. We booked a private room with two single beds for the first night, had a great view only downside was that it can get quite noisy. Our second and third night was spend in a shared room which was actually more quiet than in our private room. The staff are great, helpful and really accommodating. They helped to guide me on some walking trails and were generally always there to help and super friendly. The kitchen/lounge were great areas. The kitchen is quite big and equipped with basically all the essentials (sugar, salt, pepper - herbs). Highly recommend this place
