Cardrona Distillery

This tour was amazing. The place itself is stunning, and the samples we tasted were simply gorgeous (hence we bought two bottles!) but what made the day was the wonderful young man called Stirling who took us on the tour. He was not only knowledgeable and obviously passionate about what they are doing at Cardrona, but just made the whole experience really enjoyable. The perfect personality for a tour guide!

Having toured many “new world” distilleries around the world, I know they’re not all producing amazing spirit. Cardrona are. Their whisky is beautiful, not too much cask influence, but taking very well to Sherry, bourbon and Pinot casks. Complex beyond its years. As for the tour, wow. Jam was just the most incredible host, passionate, welcoming, funny! Probably the most enjoyable distillery tour I’ve ever done.

Not a gin person, wife is.Barman made drinks to what we liked in taste. Absolutely fanatastic.Didnt stay too long as it was late, Im sure in summer the place will be fantastic to relax with friends.great outdoor areas and staff were really impressive and kind

I just purchased a bottle of single malt whisky online. It was delivered within 48 hours. Very quick considering I love in the Waikato. Taking this to Germany as a gift. It came in a nice little wooden gift box. It looks Very smart. I have tasted this whisky before and rate it very highly. Highly recommended.

So glad we stopped here. The view is amazing! Complimentary tasting vodka, gin, liqueur and whisky! All good. Staff were very friendly and informative. Must try the camembert & crostinis!! Yummo and strawberry capricosa cocktail. So good. Just across the way from Cardrona carting.

Visited Cardrona Distillery by chance & thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We shared the Canterbury Yam nuggets and enjoyed them. Then we each had the Bacon Butty, my first ever Butty. The maple bacon, chilly jam were the best flavours. We had to try the Baked Oamaru Camembert with the white strawberry relish and pickled strawberries with crostini. The combination of flavours was superb; the strawberries were an amazing compliment to the Camembert. My friend enjoyed her single malt scotch and agreed it was one of the best she’d had. The super-efficient & friendly team provided excellent service! Our lunch was perfected by the warm fire inside & a stunning day outside, with the picturesque snow capped mountains. I have been here twice, and done the distillery tour both times (two years apart) and the second time was just as good as the first - I'd highly recommend it.Both times I left with a few bottles too, such good stuff
