What a surprise to find such a charming local as 1852! I took the family there in the weekend as we had a few hours to spare in Brooklyn. I don't think ive had such great service, kids activity packs provided, refilling of drinks without asking and the most delicious pizza. Nice atmos and a great experience, I would thoroughly recommend.

Back in Wellington after 25 years away I decided to revisit what was the Brooklyn Tavern. Back in 98 I was working down in Ohiro Bay and and popped in after work for a pint or 2 after work. And in she walked, we have been together since. 25 years now.It was great to pop in and see where it all began years ago.

It's hard to find a great place for a big family that ticks all the boxes but 1852 definitely does. Great food, fast service and lovely friendly wait staff who are only to happy to help. We now come here regularly and tonight we had another great experience for our mums birthday.

Went in last night was really happy with the food and service. The waitress was so good, a credit to your team easy going manner, helpful, communicative, friendly a real pleasure. Manager friendly & helpful as well. Thanks Jono will be back!

Not only is the bar manager a rude misery, but the management policy is apparently to short change customers by not filling the already small and wildly overpriced jugs. I have asked several times for the short-pour to be filled up, and am informed by bar staff that they will get in trouble. No wonder the place is always empty, taking my regular business to another local now.

Great place! Came in tonight for a casual beer & ended up having dinner. The pork belly was super crispy & delicious. The staff were all really friendly & have good banter. Pokie room is really large & has a good selection of games.

Went there tonight, took friends from out of town. Service fantastic and food was great too. Very generous portions. Thanks for a great meal, we'll definitely be back

Visited 4 times now and the food has been solid each time! Steak was gorgeous. Beautifully seasoned and cooked to perfection, lovely and pink. Generous portions, good atmosphere, friendly staff. Excellent job from a newly opened business.
