Absolutely superb. Best fishing shop in Turangi by miles. They do wader hire, repairs, share the right amount of local knowledge, and the whole crew make brilliant recommendations for gearing up to fish the Tongariro or Lake Taupo.

The crew in Sporting Life are bloody awesome, friendly and the knowledge they have and give freely can make the difference between taking a lifetime to learn, ( which in this game, as we all know you could spend 3 lifetime's and still not know everything! ) or listen and learn something new. I know I do pretty much everytime i'm in there. So do yourself a favor and check them out for yourself, I don't think you'll regret it .

The team at Sporting Life are the best. They helped me restore my beloved Redington CDL to full working order despite it not being a reel they were familiar with - its just because Graeme (Graham?) is just a helpful man. His wife is pretty good too :-). I've benefited from the team at Sporting Life's fishing wisdom many times in the past but this level of service and support was something else. Cannot say enough about how amazing the people in this shop are. My son even got a casting lesson while he waited for me :-). Thank you.

I showed up with no fly fishing gear whatsoever and Andrew and Jarred helped me get set up for an awesome 4 days on the river. I got everything I needed right there at the shop including very helpful information and even hitched a ride up the river by road so I could hike and fish my way back ( highly recommend this)! This is a first class fly shop in a really pretty and fishy part of the world. Thank you guys for the help. I caught so many fish and had a great time! I will be back!
