Poor experience today. We ordered xiao long bao but after waiting for about 35 minutes, the table next to us, who just placed order not long ago, was served with xiao long bao before us.We continue in waiting and thinking of, we should be served the next soon. But unfortunately, no. We did a check with the staff about our order and was not given an courtesy explanation at all, just given a set of xiao long bao that was already packed in a container, left on our table “just like that”. Until I further asked, how come the table next to us could get the dish earlier than us? Then only we were given a “so call” explanation, oh you eat this first which was packed earlier for takeaway as we have served the dish wrongly. Yes, not given an apology with “not so” sincere attitude. I can understand everyone made mistake, but at least, give a sincere explanation and probably reheat the dishes, remove and place them in the steam basket before serving to us? We were not even asked if we are fine to accept this arrangement.I do not usually practice to leave a comment, this is first time ever as it left us a bad experience for the starting of the day.

Delicious Xiaolongbaos but owner overcharged us and couldn’t provide a receipt. Remember to check your bills and calculate on your own before paying to avoid my experience. I paid an extra $6 in total.Otherwise food is good and worth a visit!

Very authentic, and great value. We came at 10:30 and it was still very busy so food was a little slow but worth the wait!

Went for breakfast, very popular, joined queue outside. The owner efficiently picked us from the queue as she had a table for two open up. We ordered bean curd porridge and milk with fried bread, delicious.

Xiao long bao was so-so—taste was good but the skin broke easily so the soup had already leaked out before I could eat them. Fried radish cake was crispy but SO OILY. Shrimp porridge was ok, slightly underseasoned.

The best Yu Tiao and soy bean milk breakfast in Christchurch. The Xiao Long Bao is good too. The proprietor is also friendly and helpful.

Authentic and lovely family style Shanghainese restaurant. Everything is spot on. Getting a table can be difficult sometimes since the shop has maybe less than 10 of them and usually only 1, or 2 waiting staff are responsible for everyone, so service can be slow when it’s busy too, but nothing too bad, and it actually makes the whole experience closer to what you would get in China.

Very very delicious Chinese restaurant serving the classics. We got very excited about the xiao long bao but they were sold out so we will have to come back another time to try them. We had the spicy pork noodles, pork and cabbage dumplings and cucumber salad. Everything was really well seasoned and generous. The fried buns looked amazing, will also be ordering them next time!

Perfect option for an Authentic Asian breakfast in Christchurch. The staff was very polite and friendly. The restaurant was clean and bright. And of course, the food was awesome. Nice portion, tasty and good price. Unfortunately didn't have more time in Christchurch, otherwise would definitely try other dishes in dinner time.
