Very dodgy. This is a business not a service. They will make you feel like you have no choice but to sign on with them and I've heard terrible things about the guy who runs it, Aaron. Also I'm pretty sure only lawyers are allowed to give legal adviceThe first thing you notice is they lock the doors behind you when you go in for an interview. not very pleasant at all. They made my problems worse if you can believe it... theres a reason they don't show their reviews on facebook...Avoid

I not sure who runs this organisation but looked like the person that answered the phone are not properly trained to listen to people who go through domestic violence

Absolutely terrible. Should be investigated and audited. They say in a very rude nasty voice What do you expect us to do about it?" Really? They could care less and push the line that if you are being assaulted by anyone in your family that isn't your husband or partner then domestic violence is AOK and you shouldn't even mention it to people as no one is interested. Has to be your "partner."I'm just editing to add that this was what they said in a very snotty and nasty tone right at the beginning. I hadn't been talking to them for a while. We've been told "domestic violence is never Ok. But if it's not what they like to call a "partner" most "professionals

Sexist organization. They follow the Duluth Model. Women are victims. Men are abusers. I'm sure there are upset men who contact shine (as the previous worker commented in a review above on his old work). Question. If you were falsely accused would you be happy? This is a money machine which keeps pushing the women are innocent in order to secure funding. Kids are more likely to be abused by their own mum than the biological dad. Independent surveys *e.g. Dunedin study. Have shown that DV rates between genders is similar. Countless examples of men being too scared to report their a victim. Their told to man up. Or risk being accused themselves. As the women just needs to say he started it. Men are scared he wont get to see his kids ever again. Many reasons men dont report. Plenty of reasons women make false accusations. Custody. Property settlement. Benefits including cash to victims. Womens minister. Wheres the mens minister. Shine and white ribbon arent there for DV.... unless its against women. And plenty of lesbian relationships are abusive.

Will tell you that you have no choice but to sign up to their anger courses" that cost loads of money and are run by a psycho by the name of aaron steedman or at least thats who ran then 6 years ago. They also lock the doors behind you as you walk in. Creepy. When I gave aaron the silent treatment after I lost my trust when it all got really "sales pitchy" he flipped and swore at me and told me to leave immediately. Would you want a maniac with anger problems himself paid to treat and help you with yours?"

I wanted to give no star. Unfortunately the system needs to put star. Horrible group of people run the organisation. They behave as if they know everything. Most of hem are lunatics . They respond properly and the lawyer behaves like a judge. The most irritating thing about this organisation is that they are very forceful and make you feel as if they can only rescue you.
